I just opened a beer.  It tastes pretty good and cold.

There is a storm sort-of rolling in.  Most like it's building over the mountains around us, but for some reason we have some imaginary bubble that makes the rain by-pass us.   Too bad, but cause we really need the rain.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I'm watching a storm build too! And my cat play in a pile of cut grass that's been blown onto the patio. I hope it rains on everyone who wants it, haha, and nobody who doesn't! I really really really hope it rains here.

  • I just had a palm bay - residual alcohol from the cottage weekend.

FI and I revamped our honeymoon plan, we were going to head to the cottage for a week (we looooove it there) but without running hot water, it makes it difficult to be clean in October.  I looked through our travel rewards visa to see what we could do and realized we had enough for 3 nights at a 5* hotel.  SCORE!  booked that, so three nights downtown in the major city, then we can head up to the cottage from there.

Also booked us two tickets for medieval times because I love it and he's never been - plus they gave us the expensive upgrade for free!  WOHOO!

    I'm a happy lady

I love watching storms develope.   When I was a kid we went to the beach. Almost every evening I use to sit outside and watch the storms form over the bay and then go out to Atlantic.   Short and sweet and it cooled us down.

  • FI keeps saying he's gonna take me to Medieval Times. I dunno when it will happen, haha, the closest one is two hours away so it's not exactly cheap, and we're saving for a wedding sooooooooo.... hahahaha.

Sounds like an awesome trip planned though!

Also - I LOVE storms. I hated them growing up, and if I have to get out IN them I hate them, but if I'm sitting somewhere where they can just be admired from a porch or a window, they're so so nice.

  • I'm so jealous of all ya'll storms. I mean, I'm decently happy with the 76° and breezy we have now (unheard of in MI in July!) but I love a good thunderstorm.

  • we had a bitching storm blow through last night.  Went from super hot and muggy - like I'm dying of heat stroke in the pool - to pants weather overnight.  Power went out, and my poor princess rottweiler hid under FI's legs like the wuss that he is.

Great lightening show though, it was beautiful to sit out on the porch and watch it.

We just left a lumberjack show... The things you do for entertainment in Maine, I tell ya. One of the lumberjacks ended up doing a quick log carving and carved the cutest little mini chair and picked the TINIEST sweetest little girl and gave it to her.

  • We just ate dinner-- pasta with broccoli and pesto.  I did a lot of flash carding/ memorizing today and my next task is to practice some multiple choice questions.  I also want to write one essay tonight before I go to sleep (40 minutes).

5 days, people.  I start the exam in 5 days and freedom is waiting for me next Thursday evening at approximately 5:30pm.

I'm going to be SO DRUNK next Thursday night.
Next Thursday is my birthday.  I will try and remember to have a drink in your honor. I know you will do well.
