Okay, so here's the deal. We did our tasting and booked our caterer for the reception dinner. Then my mother decided that she wanted us to do a brunch tasting for the morning after brunch she wants to host, so we logically called the same caterer. Well in between the dinner tasting and brunch tasting (about 6 months) the company got a new catering manager. Well, one week after the brunch tasting the new manager notifies me telling me that it is a new policy that if we do not book the brunch we owe for the tasting. While I understand that this is common practice, this is new policy to the company and she never once mentioned this to us. We asked her before we left if we owed anything and she said "no" but mentioned that she wants to talk to the owner about charging going forward. Also, we had multiple phone conversations and emails leading up to the brunch tasting, she had ample opportunity to mention this. While it's a moot point because I believe we are going to book the brunch through them I'm still super annoyed. You don't tell somebody after the fact about potential charges. Ugh. Thanks for listening. This is a good time to remind me to not let this crap get to me or to tell me I am looking at this all wrong.
