I have really exciting news!

They opened a crepe restaurant in my town. This might not sound exciting but that means you read it wrong because I said they opened a CREPE restaurant in my town. Holy crap! It's called "Heard It Through the CrepeVine". I jumped out of my skin when I saw it sitting next to the TGI Fridays. Now keeping in mind my "town" is Orlando this isn't huge news, but it's a part of Orlando that is nearer to me than other parts. I announced this on my Facebook page and I immediately had very many people wanting to schedule a lunch date. So I'm starting Advocare Monday therefore for the next 4 days I shall eat nothing but crepes with many many friends. :)

Re: I have really exciting news!

  • DH loves crepes.   Oddly I'm pretty Switzerland about crepes.  I can take them or leave them.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • When I told my husband that there were only two real things that mattered to me about our renewal (other than of course renewing our vows together) were my dress and a crepe station he didn't get it. But when I started mentioning it to people everyone was like "Yea Crepes!!!".

So I emailed one of my girlfriends who is from here but has since moved away to tell her about it and her response was "Yea Crepes!!!" and my husband thought that was hysterical.

  • I LOVE crepes.  I lived on them almost exclusively the summer I studied in Aix-en-Provence.  I'm extremely picky about them as a result.

My friend's family (they are Israeli, not French, oddly enough) owns a hole in the wall crepe shop in the West Village.  I will eat there.  A good crepe is essentially street food.  It's gotta be folded into a rectangular shape and come wrapped in foil.

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • So this place was a folded and wrapped style. It was just a bit hard for my taste. I told her that next time I come in I want a softer version. She said she'd make me a new one here and now but by that time my kids were being annoying and I promised her we'd be back. And we will.

  • The crepe place in my town us called the crepevine. They have a crepe involving fresh strawberries bananas nutella and whipped cream. I firmly believe it is a breakfast item :-)
  • This would not excite me, but YAY since it makes you happy.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I've honestly never had a crepe. They look good, I wouldn't turn one down, I guess I've just never been anythere that serves them? Everyone in my town is all excited that we're supposedly getting a Wendy's. I eat fast food about 3 times per year but when I do it's a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich so hell to the yes lol

  • OMG crepes!  On my Alaskan cruise last summer the crepe station opened at 8 p.m...we were there for our nightly snack every night of that cruise.

  • We have a local crepe place that has both sweet and savory crepes. It is such a treat when we go there.
  • I'm kinda "meh" about crepes. There's a place in Detroit that has decent ones (Le Petit Zinc, locals) but nothing holds a candle to the ones in Paris. Well, most things don't hold a candle to anything in Paris, except maybe bathroom sizes. First world problems.

  • I've never had a crepe.  There is a small restaurant in our town that serves sweet and savory crepes that are apparently amazing but they just don't appeal to me.

  • Growing up my babysitter was a French lady who lived across the street from us.  She married an american solidier during a war and moved to the US with him.  Every now and again she would make us cinnamon sugar crepes for breakfast and I still dream about them  25 years later.  So good!
  • They opened a crepe restaurant in my college town right after I graduated. I was so upset. FI still lived out there at the time though so I'd make him bring me when I visited :D
