Re: Confessions, UO, II, etc.

  • Confession:  I'm miffed because MANY people have made me feel like I don't have a right to my feelings about DH's potential new job.  I don't think it's unreasonable to be anxious/frustrated because I don't know when/where/IF this is even happening.  I talked to my mom yesterday and she was like, "You need to be patient and focus on work.  You don't want to irritate your husband."  I was THISCLOSE to shouting at her and saying, "ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME?  THIS IS NOT 1950, AND I HAVE A RIGHT TO MY FEELINGS EVEN IF THEY PISS OFF MY HUSBAND.  HAVING A DICK DOESN'T MEAN YOUR SPOUSE SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES TO YOU OUT OF FEAR THAT IT MIGHT STRESS *YOU* OUT!"

Confession:  I realize that I'm impatient, but I doesn't make me any less stressed out.

Confession:  I am pissed off that DH had the day off yesterday and did precisely ZERO of the things I asked him to do around the house.

Confession:  I woke up thinking it was Friday, and when I got to work, and realized it was Thursday, I was super sad panda.
  • @cu97tiger @tuarceatha LFL!!!

I don't think it would AWish to bring in something for your own birthday.  Who is going to complain about free treats at work? I certainly wouldn't complain.  Besides I'll find any excuse to bust out the kitchenaid mixer nowadays and try out a new dessert recipe.

  • Confession: I pretty much live on the edge of BSC-ness lately. I really really want BF to propose soon. I'm so tired of waiting. I want to be married and live together and have our relationship move to the next step!

Also, I LOVE planning and I'm super excited to plan a wedding. I will totally care about colors and flowers and linens

  • @tuarceatha wow that looks really cool.

  • @cu97tiger - I was so pissed off that no one at work remembered my birthday this year, especially since I go out of my way to make sure that everyone else at least gets a card. Then I felt like a jerk when they surprised me with a card and cupcake later. Whoops.

@justbeingme93 @bethsmiles @eilis1228 - Please refer to my signature gif for my response to her picking a "wedding date". It's a damn good thing we were texting.

Also @justbeingme93 and @eilis1228 I am getting so sick of long hair too, but I want it long for my wedding. I have been wanting to chop it all off for a few months, but I know how annoying it is to grow out again. I've warned FI that I will likely chop it short when we get back from our honeymoon lol

@loves2shop4shoes - I had the same thought. I was cranky when I realized that I couldn't actually wear jeans to work today.

@tuarceatha - Love the rainbow cupcakes! I did something similar for an ex, I made his whole hockey pool team out of cupcakes...the cupcakes were the jersey colours of the teams that the players belonged to.

Confession: I have a KitchenAid Mixer in it's original box in my basement. I have (obviously) never used it. While there have been times where I thought it might come in handy, it's too big for my tiny kitchen. I simultaneously DGAS and am sad, because it seems like the 'ahhhhhh' thing that every bride wants so much that I'm not even utilizing.

  • @cu97tiger I love cooking and I love trying new recipes, so I'm all about cool kitchen gadgets.  I'm not much of a baker either, but now that I have a mixer I want to use it and make cooking/baking as easy as possible.

If I wasn't so into cooking I wouldn't have registered for it.  It does take up a lot of space and I think it was the one thing off of our registry H was hoping we wouldn't get.  He kind of felt like it was such an expensive thing that we wouldn't get much use of out.  My sister didn't register for one didn't want one, didn't care.  I had a few friends too who felt the same.

This will be my first time using mine for a recipe. H once forced me to use it for one holiday dish he picked out. I cried about it because I was both frustrated with him telling me what I should be doing and frustrated with me for being so unwilling to help in the kitchen/so unwilling to use a mixer. I'm such a weirdo.

I'm awful at mixing stuff together well and it made it so easy plus I was able to multi-task while it was mixing.

  • @lmcooper86 I'll probably do the same thing after my honeymoon too. I chopped off about 8 inches and donated it a couple of years ago, but I think this time around I want to grow it out a bit more before donating again. My hair was way too short last time. Sometimes I think about cutting it all off before the wedding and just getting extensions, but that seems like a lot of money and energy... meh.

    I'm judging you!

I've wanted a Kitchenaid mixer for YEARS. Two Christmases ago my mom mentioned that she found a good deal on one, and that she'd be getting it for me for Christmas. I was sooooo excited for it. Christmas came, and I opened a big ol' box....and in it was an Oster brand mixer. She told me "I almost bought the Kitchenaid one, but this was cheaper and had great reviews online!" I mean, this mixer is better than no mixer at all, but I've used a Kitchenaid, and it can handle a lot more than this one can. I've thought about buying myself one, but I don't want to hurt my mom's feelings. I figure I can register for it though because enough time will have passed since I got her gift ;-)

I grew out my hair for the wedding for over a year I kept it very long it was so annoying.  I got it trimmed once to take off the dead ends about two weeks before the wedding.  Two days after we got back from the honeymoon I got my hair chopped to about chin level. I love it!  I didn't donate though and I looked at one website for donations that said they woudldn't take dyed hair. :-(

  • @Hummingbird125 - My mom had a KitchenAid mixer for years and last year bought an Oster. She actually likes it a lot better and says it handles way more than the KitchenAid. It is certainly bigger. She might have a different model than yours though.

I have to manually turn the bowl for mine sometimes, and if the dough is too heavy, the mixing...part...thing pops off. Also, it doesn't turn off from the dial, I need to unplug it. I'm guessing your mom's is better than that, lol. But it's STILL a lot better than a bowl & spoon :-)

Really? Hmmm I dye my hair, and it was accepted. Weird. I know they don't like layered hair either, but I also feel like beggars can't be choosers... I mean, how much hair can they really receive if they're so stringent on their donation policies? I know that there's a charity that takes any type and length of hair to help with oil spill clean ups: http://www.examiner.com/article/how-to-donate-hair-to-oil-spills-program. That's always an option too for anyone considering hair donation.

  • I registered for a kitchenaid because it would be nice to just HAVE one.  It would probably sit in the box though like @cu97tiger because I just don't really care to bake that much.

I'm just going to throw a vent in because I can.

Vent:  I effing HATE the place we rented our house from.  They have been a PITA since literally day one (and I mean the day we moved in).  We moved out and have now waited 30 days for our deposit return.  I called today to check in and of course they said they sent it so now they will have to resend a check.  When I asked how much it was $400 LESS than what we expected back!  $400!!!  WTF are they charging me for!  We had the carpets professionally cleaned and submitted the receipts and I have been back in the house physically since we moved out because the new renter is a doll and saved our mail for us and they did NOTHING in the way of painting or filling holes, etc.  My head really hurts.

thanks for letting me vent.  I have a feeling court is in my future.

  • @LaPeanut1018 - Happy birthday!

  •  Confession: if @eilis1228 hadn't mentioned birth control, I would have totally forgotten. I just set an alarm on my phone so I can remember to take it at lunch, haha! Thanks, lady!

Confession: I hate that you all seem to be on the east side of the country. When it's afternoon on the west coast, and I'm bored and tired and just want to talk on here, no one is left to talk to.

  • @LaPeanut1018, happy birthday!

II: My boss canceled our weekly meeting again. While I recognize he's busy and all that, it leaves me going "why do I schedule things?"
  • @LaPeanut1018 Happy Birthday to you toooo!

    LFL. Roar.

  • @cu97tiger @tuarceatha @peaseblossom55 LFL!! Also, happy early birthday tuarceatha! July Leos are the best!

AW: FI had flowers sent to my office today for my birthday! He sent them today rather than Monday (my actual birthday) since apparently they'll be fresher and so I can enjoy them all weekend. Also, this is the first time ever he's sent me flowers!

    image

Confession: I don't think I'm going to wait for the etiquette approved 6-8 week time period to mail my invitations. People keep asking about them and I'm starting to feel anxious so I think I'll send them early to mid August rather than August 23rd (8 weeks from the wedding day).

II: TK, Pinterest, Gmail, and WW all hate IE9. I really want to upgrade my browser but this is my work computer and it's probably bad enough that I'm browsing these sites already.

II: My wedding dress salon told me my dress would arrive in July and it's July and no wedding dress. I know that we still have like...a whole week in July but I don't care because I want my dress rightthissecond.

We had the same thing happen. Everyone was asking when they should be expecting them so we went ahead and mailed them out 9 weeks before the wedding date. Most of our guests are OOT so I wasn't too worried.

Announcement: It's National Tequila Day and that makes me ridiculously happy.
UO: I hate tequila. I don't like the taste of it at all and on the rare times I do drink it, it gives me the worst hangovers.
