Work vent

The receptionist at work is getting on my last nerve. She has done nothing but complain about her husband all week. Apparently he has some kind of condition that requires him to take some sort of blood thinner. Well he was doing something around their house this weekend and accidentally chopped off a little bit of the tip of his finger. He refuses to go to the hospital. Three days later said finger is still bleeding. He still refuses to go to the hospital, no matter how much the receptionist begs him to. Well bleeding finally stops but guess what? He hits the finger against something last night and it is bleeding again. He still refuses to go to hospital. All I've hear about all week is how this guy is being a completely idiot about his finger. She even showed us a picture of it. Ew. I get that she is worried. I really do and I feel bad that she is so worried. However, if my FI was not only being stupid about his health but that he was being so inconsiderate of my feelings I wouldn't want to admit that to all my co-workers.

Re: Work vent

  • Wow-- I'd be embarrassed if my Fi was being that obstinate about his health, not talking about it to all of my coworkers.  TMI, lady.

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • Wow. I'm with you on that one. If FI was being that careless and not going to a doctor about something that serious I would not be telling my coworkers about it. She sounds like she has some issues with boundaries and over sharing.

  • It is completely tmi. I mean we have a really informal workplace and we do talk about things we probably shouldn't but for me this crossed the inappropriate line.
  • Maybe she just needs someone to talk to.

  • I can MAYBE see venting about him refusing to go to the Dr, but showing pics?  That's too muchimage.

  • I don't mind listening to you if you're worried and making sympathizing noises in order to make you feel better.

Do NOT show me a picture of a bleedy, cut-off fingertip. That is crossing the line.

Also - if you cut of a piece of finger that big, you should probably go to the hospital whether or not you're on a blood thinner.
