My back went out and I was having spasms in my legs throughout my wedding day. I just had no idea why I couldn't feel my back hurting. It was my dress. The corset held my back together, almost like a back brace. I was able to dance all day long and make it through the day. That was a miracle.
My ceremony. Every guest I was able to talk to and greet said I had the most beautiful ceremony they had ever witnessed. We had a planting ceremony instead of a unity candle. I thought it was a nice way to remember my grandma and his mother without having an overly heartbreaking memorial. The Magnolia spray over the trellis (it was my grandmother's favorite flower). The florist did a beautiful job, and it made me feel like she was watching over me on our wedding day.
My MOH, I was so upset that hair and makeup took so long and she could not get her hair done. SHe played it off like it was no big deal, and INSISTED that she did not get her hair done, because she said the day was about me, and not her. She was so selfless and amazing, it made me less upset. She cleaned up the hotel room so the photographer could shoot the hotel room. And she said the most beautiful maid of honor speech. I was in tears and laughing the whole time.
MY HUSBAND!!!! He looked at me, and looked up at the sky, then he looked at me, again and started crying when I walked down the aisle. He wrote the most beautiful vows, he had me in tears, it was so touching and sweet. Nobody expected it from him, because he is usually making us laugh. Our dance! WE NAILED IT. I have terrible rhythm, but we nailed our first dance, as we dance to "At Last" by Etta James.
My sister and I did a medley dance to "Apache (Jump on it) and "It's Not Unusual", by Tom Jones. We did a little montage from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It was so much fun. Later, My grandfather and I did a non spotlight dance to "Through the Years," by Kenny Rogers. Our guests gave us the dance floor, though, so it was just him and me. I was sobbing uncontrollably. He was amazing.
I did not miss my father for one second. I was so swept up in the joy, that I refused to pay any attention to the negative. (besides being late). And my wedding was actually so much better because my father wasn't there.
I could not have asked for more beautiful weather. It wasn't too hot and the sun was shining. Our guests LOVED the sea salted caramels. I am glad I squeaked out the time to make them.
And my husband looked amazing in his tux. DAMN! I get to spend the rest of my life with him!
The cake!!! My cake was so beautiful and delicious. His aunt made the cake and it was to die for. I was a little peeved that some guests wanted more cake so they took cake from other people tables, and those guests did not get any. That was incredibly rude of them (I have no idea who it was, but someone had to stop this person from eating our cake.) Our cake was spared from this person and it was heavenly.
We kept the dance floor open an hour later, so our guests didn't have to wrap it up so early. We had a wonderful day. I can't wait for the video, as I can't remember everything, it goes by so fast!
