Work brag!

My company just got featured all over a bunch of local business publications! We had very good things happen and we're suddenly getting tons of press! I'm super-excited!

Start-ups are tough. I was the first person to join my boss's company and I came because of my absolute faith in her, not because I knew what I was getting myself into. 18 months later, 3 office moves, a stint looking for a second job, etc. and I'm finally getting stability. I became an employee 3 weeks ago and might even someday get benefits. I'm getting paid way below market value but have shares in something that could someday be significant.

I (usually) love my coworkers (all 3!), enjoy the work, and am developing my career.

I'm so proud of this wonderful group of ladies!

What do you have to brag about at work?

  • Oh congrats! Sounds like you have a great job!

My work brag is almost always about my clients. They make everyday special and are just so awesome. I seriously can't get enough of them.

  • Glad you're loving it, and good press is always awesome to hear.

My work brag is that I'm not at work and don't have to go back for another 5 weeks.  Man do I earn my summer vacations.

My work brag is that they just announeced today an expansion.... yay for growth all around!

  • My work brag would definitely be my boss.

I told him that FI moved in, and he said "Did I hear you slip and say he was going to be sharing your ROOM? I'm gonna have to have a little talk with Momma about that." (He did not say my mom's name, although he knows it. He said "Momma", and also calls her "Momma" when he gets her on the phone, which is a regular occurrence since he's a lawyer and she's a clerk in one of the divisions he frequents).

And then he asked if FI had a job yet, and I said no, but he was hoping to get in with the main restauranteur here in town, and my boss said, "Oh, well what are his qualifications?" and I told him and he said "Well, I'll talk him up to Mr. Big Wig Restauranteur Dude for you this afternoon."

Seriously, I think my job could potentially suck hardcore if it weren't for the dude who signs my paychecks.
