@jenna8984 - I love Will & Grace!  Haven't watched it in ages, though!  Might just have to do that!

  • Oh, also. I have no idea how this started. I think because we started calling the dog it. But we have now been calling each other "poop". I totally slipped and did it in public while we were at dinner last night. To say the waiter gave us a look would be an understatement.

@climbingbrideny That's great!! I have absolutely no idea why or how it started but when my brother and I were little we nicknamed each other "butt-bow" (I just burst out loud at my desk typing that) and it somehow morphed into calling my parents daddybow and mombutt. They still sign my birhdays cards with those names. It's very embarassing when I'm in public and she calls and I answer "Hey Mom-butt!!"

  • I get insanely excited whenever I see something Christmas related. Elf was on some channel last night, so BF got a mouthful when he put on Madagascar. I mean seriously, Elf wins hands down. Elf wins everything.
I also may have been over excited when our store put out Hallmark ornaments a few weeks ago for Christmas in July. And bought a few.

BF and I like to quote movies, but I think Ace Ventura is the best. He actually dressed as him for Halloween one year.
  • @mrsmorales2be I own every season on DVD so I always bust them out when I work from home on a snow day! Or just a snowy weekend.

  • I cuddle my cat before I get up for the day and call it "snuggy time".

I also have a love for the movie "Don't tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" with Christina Applegate (old movie) so whenever I'm done doing the dishes I always quote the part of the movie "The dishes are done MAN" to FI.

  • FI and I's major dork thing is that we watch Golden Girls and Frasier every night. If I'm working on art stuff, I have the first 4 seasons of GG, so I marathon them pretty often (they never get burnt out for me DONT JUDGE), but we still watch them almost every night we're both home and laugh our asses off.

We also marathon Clone High over a couple nights probably every other month. We like TV.

Oh also, my BFF and I will quote Friends back and forth. We were the other night walking across the mall parking lot laughing hysterically. "I hear weddings are a 40 billion dollar a year industry" "Yeah, and I'm responsible for just like half of that!"

I also kiss my cats before work and wish them a good day when I leave. Then, when I come home, I ask them how their day went. Sometimes I tell them about mine lol.

Also, sometimes when FI and I walk down the street holding hands I pretend that we are a celebrity couple strolling down the streets of NYC. I imagine there are papparazzi taking pics of us, and even gave us a nickname by combining our names.
I do this as well, but with my dog.  And I don't think it is strange at all.  Now those that aren't people would probably think it is strange, but I know my dog would think she did something wrong if I didn't say goodbye to her, give her a kiss and tell her I love her and to be good before I left each day.

I also have dance parties with my dog in my kitchen when a commercial with a song comes on.
My dog is deaf and I STILL talk to him all the time like he can hear me.  Also, his name is Puff and FI and I have gradually created really random nicknames for him.  Puff led to Poof, which led to Poofy, which led to Poofins.  Also, Buddy led to Booty.  So yeah, I call my dog Booty.  I may or may not have been caught numerous times by random passers-by calling my giant white pit bull Booty.

We also call our cats, Leo and Cassie, "Mr. Kitty" and "Mrs. Kitty" as though they're married.  I think we're just weird LOL.
  • @goldchocobo bahahahha love it!! Love the snarktastic response. Evert yime I try to pet mine and she just walks away I always yell "who's the brattiest kitty in the world?!" YOU ARE"

  • Sometimes when I spray perfume, I spray it 3-4 times in the air in front of me and dance through the perfume cloud.

Oh geez. This is my family too. I'm S-dawg, my brother is J-Dizzle, and we call our mom Lil' K. You know...cause we're gangstas like that.

But he's got multiple personalities too!  Somedays he talks like Jessie from Breaking Bad, other days he talks like a cat version of Scooby Doo.  "Mumma!  I wants a food!  I loves snack.  Can I has a snack?"  then "Serious, do you NOT listen, bitch?  I wanna laser pointer to chase right MEOW!"  If you saw him, you would know why.  He's huge and looks either like a huge cuddly-kitty-loaf or a street-fighting bruiser.  Depends on the day.

  • I'm a huge dork. Last week, I was watching some of the videos from Comic-Com about Game of Thrones. I was about to say something to coworkers along the lines of "Holy crap, they cast Dr. Bashir from Deep Space 9 as Doran Martel!" Luckily, I managed to stop myself first.

DH and I have running conversations with our cats, as well as multiple nicknames appropriate to myriad situations. For example, "Jellybean" when one is acting jealous. They also both have middle names based on Star Trek characters. That way they know they're really in trouble when we use all three names.
    Wheaton's Law: Don't be a dick.
  • When I learn a new crochet stitch or finish a project, I feel so accomplished!  Is that dorky?

I'm the same way! Crafty women are awesome :) I'm also a computer geek and a serious gamer. FI is as well. There are many jokes about hard drives and fingering around here, and we'll both probably take the day of when the new WoW expansion hits.
I'm definitely in the boat too.  Love to quilt, learning to knit.  Get super excited by new fabric lines being released, or a trip to buy supplies.

I'm also completely geeky about the gaming.  I think I'm done with WoW now, but I did spend a few years (on and off) trying to make an a 1992 game that I loved as a child work on the series of computers I've had over those years.  I finally made it work a few months ago.  It was the most exciting thing that I'd done in months!  Unfortunately, it turns out that when you know how to finish the game (amazingly I still remember the storyline) there's only about five or six hours of play in it.  Aside from that, it's held up pretty well.  Silly of me to assume that there was going to be a huge amount of game on one disc made with filmed graphics, and a lot of sound bites, at a 1992 compression rate.  Still, totally worth it!

To the bolded: Which game?  I play all sorts of consoles!

I play Plague Inc: Evolved on Steam as well.

    FI: Babe, whatca doin'?
Me:  Killing humanity.  I'm a fungus.
FI: oh.....Well, kill 'em all, then!

That and Tomb Raider, Harvest Moon, Final Fantasy, Old school NES, Civilization, Grand Theft Auto, all sorts of stuff!  We have...*counts in her head*..9 consoles (GameCube, NES, Super NES, PS2, PS3, XBOX 360, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS and the newly acquired Wii U)

Mario Kart 8 is the BEST!  FI looks forward to the day he can play along with our kids.  They will have plenty of stuff to choose from :)

  • I grew up watching Jeopardy with my Dad.  DH and I will now watch it once in  a while.  I usually get more answers right, since growing up, you could answer before the question was finished.  DH says you have to wait for Trebek to finish reading like the players.  I also read faster.  He usually kicks my ass in Final Jeopardy.

We occasionally keep score, but generally if you get final Jeopardy right, you win and there's some major dancing and hollering of "In your face!!" going on.

  • @winstonsgirl OMG I've been watching forever, I was like the only college kid who wouldn't go get drunk until Jeopardy was over. I get SOO excited when I get the final answer and all 3 get it wrong. I'm all "who's the smarty now bitches??!?!?!" Like there was a question about the cotton gin and Eli Whitney that I got and they all missed. And one about Steelers stadium, none of them knew it was Heinz. Hell-oooo!!

  • @goldchocobo It was Return to Zork. I usually don't bother with the name of it because very few people seem to have ever heard of it. I really love Plague Inc too, but current affairs have kind of turned me off it for the time being.

  • My dog and I listen to the same radio station all day. Him at home and me at work. Its the classical and news station so I pretend that it makes us snobby and stuck up to FI. "We're cultured, you know, because we like Barkmaninhoff."
    image
  • I was born in the 70's and received a record, (yes folks, a real live record!) of Captain Zoom singing me my VERY OWN BIRTHDAY SONG! Did I mention it was my very own? Meaning that they SAID MY NAME IN THE SONG?!?!

I HAVE to listen to this song every year on my birthday. Still. I don't play it more than on my birthday though.

    Anymore.

    Much.

I love being smarter than all of the contestants.  I especially love it when we get the standard 1 Canadian based question per show, cos most of them are always stumped.  I have to say though, that my favourites are the kids tournaments, cos then I feel extra smart.

  • I kick ass at Wheel of Fortune.

My youngest son won't stay in the living room with me if it's on. He says I never give him a chance.

I prefer to think of it as just preparing him for the real world. I don't care if he gives me those big green sad boo-boo eyes or not. Suck it up Buttercup!!

  • I was emptying some old bins from my moms basement the other day and my fi totally found my Dr. Who Dalek piggybank. This is from a long time ago before the "new" doctor who made it popular but I always loved the show because I used to watch it with my Dad on PBS when I was little. :)
@BlackLace2015, my dad and I did the same thing!!!  Then spent the next 8 years searching for someone my age who had even heard of Dr. Who.  Paid off when I met my best friend and DH by asking them if they watched it:)  BFF and I went on to run the Dr. Who club at college together:)  Who's your favorite and first doctor?  Mine's 5 for both.

    And I think I revea
led one of my biggest dorking out things.  That and communicating with DH making hand llama noises.  Don't ask...
  • When I win a hard video game battle, I do a victory dance. And I make my FI say "Foe VANQUISHED" in his very best death metal growl.

I talk to all animals as though they are sweet adorable babies, including large bears and whales.

My best friends and I have a series of hand codes involving llama silhouettes and bunny ears that mean very specific things.

That actually only happened once this time around, but that was because I got the knobs on the hotel room control panel wrong.  Still trying to amp up FIs interest in this and have him give it a whirl.

  • I'm such a dork, I mean I am the ultimate nerd girl. I am a total pop culture maniac so I get goofy anytime I can quote something. If I have the ability to quote something from Friends, Comic Books or a song of any genre I'm thrilled.

I'm also a quiz know it all. I have a vast knowledge for all things pop culture. I can answer basically any question from Fraggles to Night Court. It's just always been the way I'm wired. I can't do math to save my life but I'm like an idiot savant maybe.

Speaking of Marvel, I live for Marvel movies and any actors in Marvel movies. I have the inside scoop on all of it so when I see it unfold on TV or previews I will do a dorky dance and be all like "I knew about this I I I saw this first...and you didn't even know it..." I don't get like this about everything, mainly just Marvel.

I also live for conventions. I get crazy over Firefly, Torchwood and a lot of those sci-fi shows. I would full on cos-play and probably will one day.

I'm also a snort laugher so it made me snort to see you guys do it too.
