Re: It's been a long week then I get an email

  • DH was stationed in Hawaii for a long time before we met.  He says he'll take me someday.  Friends from our last duty station are transferring there in a couple of months so it would be nice if we could go while they are there.  I'd really like to go to Ireland too.

okay, so The Love Boat is on TV right now. I took a Mediterranean cruise on the Pacific Princess (same boat used on the show) with my BFF and parents. One of my best vacations. Now I miss my BFF and traveling.
We did our HM on the Pacific Princess.  It was our first cruise.  We did the Eastern Med and the Holy Lands, which was an amazingly cool place to visit.

  • H & I currently have a week scheduled for Pagosa Springs CO in October and then in January we are going back to Hawaii.  Neither H nor I have been to CO before, so I'm very much looking forward to exploring a new place together!

  • I'm dying to take H to Paris in the fall, but we'll see how expensive the kitchen renovations get this month.

Dream place unlimited budget it Bora, Bora/Moorea.

My cousin is going to Bora Bora/Moorea on her HM. I am super jealous!

We looked at it for our honeymoon and for 10 days it would have been over $15,000, with paying for the wedding too, it was just too expensive.  I hope some day we get there.

  • @Jells2dot0 I would have loved to have out honeymoon in Bora Bora in one of those floating kabanas but man were they expensive!!!
I guess my dream destination now becomes where I was born, Mauritius. I wouldn't live there but it's absolutely gorgeous!

How neat that you were born in Mauritius! I spent some time there and the Seychelles in 2011. It was an amazing trip.

  • I would love to go back to Malta someday, the ocean and beaches there are just gorgeous!  The water is such a surreal color of blue, and when I went swimming in 6 feet deep water, I could still see straight to the bottom.  *sigh*
  • I don't really travel.  I've never been bitten by the travel bug.  I always stay close to home.

FI and I want to go to PEI for a bit though on our honeymoon.  The slow pace would be really nice.

We are headed to my mom and dad's cottage this weekend.  I really look forward to seeing them, staring at the lake, and splitting a bottle of wine with my mom while FI talks to dad about sports. ^_^

  • I would love to go to east Africa; Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique especially. I've been to South Africa and Namibia and loved that. It was absolutely one of the best experiences of my life and would love to go back to that continent.

Monaco (for the Grand Prix), Italy (especially Venice and Siena), Germany (Berlin and the Black Forest), Australia (Brisbane and the Gold Coast) , New Zealand (Everything), Peru (Macchu Pichu) and Argentina (Iguazu Falls and the Perrito Moreno glacier) are also towards the top of my list.

I would be happy to travel pretty much anywhere in the world, though my budget doesn't match my dreams at this point. After the wedding, FI and I plan to have a travel budget and take a little trip (maybe even just a long weekend) each year with a big trip every 3-5 (depending on the budget needed for that trip).
