    My mom and I will try on each others e-rings for fun (she recently got engaged and has a stunning ring). I would take it as a compliment that someone wanted to look and try it on. Like @lc07 said, you can always sage it if it bothers you that much.

    Late to the convo but before I was engaged I tried on all of my friends rings because I wanted to see what I looked like with a sparkly! I never thought it might be rude, but now I feel bad about it!! Meanwhile I take my ring off for everyone and force them to put my ring on!

    I was surprised how many people wanted to try on my ring - or just did it when they'd ask to hold it. 
    I was a little taken back at first since I thought that was something you didn't do.
    After how many times it's happened though... I don't get weird about it.
