designer recommendations for bridesmaids? Can't find the right color

Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone can tell me a designer who carries turquoise, or the color under a different name.  I've checked dozens of designers in person and online, but they're either baby blue or teal green. Ideally I'd love a line that allows for different styles with the same dress, but honestly, as long as i have the right color, i can let everyone choose their own style in that color/fabric.

I'm attaching a photo of the color I have in mind, it seems mostly prom dresses come in this color. Any and all help would be appreciated! The closest I've come is seamist by Bari Jay, but even that has a green layer.

Re: designer recommendations for bridesmaids? Can't find the right color

  • The problem is that colors show up on a computer monitor in a slightly different shade than they are in real life.  You'd be best off ordering some color swatches.

I had my ladies get dresses from the Dessy group (www.dessy.com).  They own a number of brands, so you should be able to find the color you want there.  They also offer a pack of color samples (printed on cardboard, so fabrics will look slightly different, although, if you like a particular dress or fabric you can purchase a swatch) that is inexpensive and ships really quickly.  Unfortunately the pack I purchased doesn't include colors in this range, otherwise I would give you a reference.

    Good luck!

  • thanks. That's why I've had to visit places in person because online colors are not accurate. I'll see some dresses from real weddings on pinterest but can't find info or the original source. I don't want to do online orders because alll 6 girls are shaped very differently and I want to see the dresses on everyone.

  • Don't limit yourself to "bridesmaid" companies/dresses. Just go to Nordstrom/another nice store and pick out a dress you like in the color you like. Even Rent the Runway has turquoise cocktail dresses for rent. If you go with a cocktail dress, it'll be more likely the bridesmaids can wear it again.
  • To me that color looks exactly like David's Bridal spa. But I second what people said about colors showing up different on screens so it may look totally different to you. But yes, go get swatches.
  • you could also try Alfredo Angelo maybe.

  • thanks, I'll look into everything!
  • Popular colors are really determined each year by fashion institutes like WGSN.  If you are having trouble located a certain color, that is because manufacturers are not making it.  Purples and greens are the most difficult.  I wore my favorite color, periwinkle, to daughter's wedding, but I was unable to find a matching hat, because that suit was from several season's earlier.  Sad face.
Try to be more flexible in your color search.

  • That looks a lot like J Crew's "Bright Seaside".
