Chandelier Ideas

So I really want to include chandeliers in my indoor restaurant wedding, however I am not allowed to hang anything from the ceiling. I was thinking about weighing down large vases with wooden sticks sticking out and hanging battery operated chandeliers from the twigs. Has anyone heard of any other ideas to incorporate chandelier?

When you say "large vases", how large do you mean?  I would think a chandelier would need at least three feet of clearance above the tallest person's head.  Did you mean small chandeliers, like just ornamental?

  • Honestly, nobody will care whether you have chandeliers, or not.  They will care about the quality of food and drink, and watching you get married!
I think chandeliers belong in ballrooms.

  • It's a good thought, but I think it will look forced. Not the elegant, romantic look you're going for.

Could you use caldelabras that have the chandelier look instead? You can usually find places that rent them. Something like:

  • scrabblecrush- The vases are about 2.5 feet tall and 1 foot wide, the chandeliers themselves are only 11" wide and 1.5 lbs so they are quite small.

CMGragain- The question was not wether anyone will care, it was if anyone had seen or had any good ideas.

  • Southernbelle0915- Fantastic idea, never thought of candelabra's thank you!!
  • I like Southernbelle's idea!
  • I like the candelabras much better. I love chandeliers but honestly, I think hanging them from sticks would look pretty stupid.

Are these for centerpieces?  If so that is a foot for the vases and then another foot for the chandelier.  If you have one on each side that makes your centerpieces 3 feet across, wider if you want the chandeliers to have some distance from the vases.  That is going to take up a huge amount of table space.  Also it is going to take a lot of sticks to keep them from being pulled over.  Plus tall centerpieces make if very difficult for people talk to each other because they can't see across the table.

  • No they are not for centerpieces just décor, I think candelabras are the way to go.

That makes more sense.  You can rent them.

It is very rude of you to tell people how to post.
