Do you wear a robe to get ready in? NWR

I usually wear a tshirt or tank top and then change when I get my work clothes on. I have this beautiful robe that makes me feel like a Victoria's secret model (lol) so I believe I will begin wearing it before getting dressed for that extra confidence boost.

I don't know how to make a poll but I am curious how many people actually wear a robe.

  • I usually just stay wrapped in my towel after my shower to get ready. Sometimes I'll throw on a clean bra and underwear and get ready in that, but most of the time it's just a towel.

I don't wear a robe when getting ready, rather I wear a fluffy robe in the colder fall and winter months because I am always cold and a fluffy robe is cozy and comforting.

ETA:  And when I say I wear a robe in the winter I mean when I am just lounging around the house.  When I get ready I just wear a t-shirt and workout shorts/sweatpants.

  • I sometimes wear one on Saturday/Sunday mornings in the winter. But otherwise, no. The sleeves are baggy and I'm always having to re-tie the waist rope.

I get ready in whatever. Usually it's pajamas. I'm a shower at night kind of person unless I go on a morning run. Then I'm getting ready in my birthday suit.

  • Yes. I have a short lightweight robe that I put on after I shower. I usually wear it while I'm eating breakfast (while my moisturizer is soaking into my body) and then take it off.
  • I have one of those towels that has elastic and velcro around the top so you can wear it like a little dress.

  • If I had a lightweight, short sleeved robe then I totally would. But both of mine are more for winter, for keeping warm after a shower. The long sleeves get in the way of my hair and makeup, so I usually get ready naked or in my undies.

  • When I shower in the morning, I get partially dressed and then get ready. When I shower the night before I get ready in my pjs (a tshirt).

  • Yeah the one I have is lightweight and doesn't go past my butt. It's also see-through which is maybe why I feel so damn good in it, lol!

I hate those terrycloth floor length ones. I used to get those for christmas all the time and they are so uncomfortable.

I love robes. I have one my high school BFF got me in 2005 I use in the winter.

It's a long, hot pink fleece number with polka dots on it and it's so warm and amazing. It's not very sexy, but it's comfortable & I always feel happy when I wear it both to get ready in & over my pajamas at night.

I never had much luck in finding one for the warmer months until a few months ago. It's originally from Target, but I got it at a discount retailer for $5. It's a short gray cotton robe that makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a cloud. I wear it to get ready every single morning, and even though it's cotton, it makes me feel sexy because I'm so happy in it.

ETA: Aaaaaaaaaand now I feel like a crazy robe lady.

  • I shower in the morning and wrap a towel around me when I'm done.  I put on my deodorant, perfume and comb my hair, then get dressed, then put on my makeup and do my hair.

I find robes annoying and unflattering.

  • I don't like robes. I find them uncomfy. I only wear one now when I need to get ready and FSS is around. I'm super-prudish around him so I pull it out when I'm getting ready and not fully dressed.

Then, it's a robe that goes below the knees and is still covering either pjs or bra/undies.

I never realized how short/low-cut my pjs were until I started living with a teen boy! (I noticed before he got a chance to)

  • In the summer, no. I get ready buckass nekkid. In cooler months, I wear a robe for warmth. I have a ridiculous short fuzzy pink one.
  • I wear a robe sometimes.  When it is warm out, I just wear a tank top and shorts- I also like to sit out on my patio and drink my coffee/ read/ contemplate life, and I won't wear a robe outside.

In the winter, I steal FI's robe.  My skin is uber dry, so the robe is perfect to let lotion/oils soak in.

I would like one of  those super soft fleece robes for when I'm reading and/or doing schoolwork in the colder months.

  • Newp, nekkid. Even in the winter. Sometimes I'll put undies on if it's Shark Week. If I'm getting ready for some kind of an event in the evening and curling my hair and shit, I'll throw on this lightweight pool coverup type of dress.

  • I also have one of those towel-like things with straps and velcro that I wear after I dry off. My dog is huge, slobbery and hairy so getting dressed is the absolute last thing I do in the morning.

  • Nope. I usually get ready naked, haha. Depending on the day, its eith r a confidence booster ("I look hot!") or motivation to get my ass to the gym ("Um, are those love handles?")
  • I am like @emmaaa. I cannot wear a robe without my boob attempting to make an escape for freedom. So I have just given in and get ready nekked.

  • Another vote for nekkid.  Maybe underwear.  I shower at night, so I just get up and wash my face and do make-up

I have a waffle-weave robe I'll wear if I'm cold, but usually no. Although I tend to get dressed first, then do hair and makeup. Am I getting ready backwards?

"I'm not a rude bitch.  I'm ten rude bitches in a large coat."

  • I wear a big fluffy terry cloth robe when I get out of the shower and then put something else on when I'm dry. I don't get ready in the robe.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Yes! When I get out of the shower I feel it is so much easier then wearing just a towel. In the colder months I have a heavier one and in the warmer months a light weight one!

  • I don't have a robe, but now I kind of want one! I usually get ready in my PJs now but a nice fluffy robe sounds lovely for the winter :)
  • I get ready naked. Usually getting ready is just drying my hair and plucking eyebrows. The only make up I wear regularly is lipstick, and I put that on after I'm dressed.

Robes are more I don't feel like putting clothes on yet so I put a robe on to sit at my computer. Or I wear it too bed. I only have a light weight short cotton robe and a long light weight satiny kimono style robe.

  • I'm usually either naked or in tank top and shorts, depending on my mood and if I have the blinds open or not. I've tried robes but they always slide off me and maybe there was one time I kind of almost lit the sleeve of one on fire on a stove, so me and robes don't really get along.

I'm usually really hot after I get out of the shower, so I stay naked to keep cool and not get my clothes all sweaty, especially if I'm blow drying my hair. Plus I'm a huge klutz so this way I don't drop makeup on my clothes.

  • Yes, I wear a robe. I only started doing it just recently since I got married. DH and I live with my parents while our house is being built, and I wear lingerie to bed. Sooo I've been wearing one of the satin robes from Victoria's secret whenever I walk out of the room. Easier to put a robe on then change from my cute white lacey satin open back short-that-my-bottom-hangs-out cami set. Plus DH likes the idea of getting to take the robe off.

I usually get ready in my bra and underwear or a tank top and underwear and then get dressed. I don't want all of my hair that falls out every time I brush it on my clothes nor do I want powder from my bronzer or eye shadow on my clothes. I have 3 dogs and a cat too so I get dressed right before I leave so I don't have fur all over me either.

Why for shark week? Honestly curious.
