This week flew by and I am so excited. My shower is SUNDAY!! I am so excited because there will be women coming that I haven't seen in far too long. I can't wait to catch up.

 

We sent out invitations on Monday and have already received 4 RSVPs (all yes!) and I can't wait to check the mail again when I go home today.

Post, I'll be an old married lady - or in a coma from losing my ever loving mind, not sure which yet. Edit: I swear there were paragraphs!

I have a busy weekend of work.  Saturday  golf course.  Sunday - golf course + bar tending for a private party.  I have DH to thank for that.   He is doing a private party and they wanted a fun bartender.  The manager wanted to schedule some old dud.   DH was like "oh hell no, my wife will work the party after she is done with the beverage cart".      Gee thanks DH.   

It's not all that bad, the people who are hosting the party are awesome and fun. I know a lot of the guests who are fun also.   They want to get us a car service to go home.    The only reason I can think why is they expect us to be drinking.  Not happening with me (dh is another story), but it's sweet they think about us like that.

I have a witness interview scheduled to go to 530 :-(. I dont think it will take that long though. I will have to do some work stuff this weekend, training for ability to practice before a fed court and work up on a set of cases that i have meetings with another agency about. I just want to relax....no such luck

I have no idea what we're doing this weekend. We wanted to go camping, but pretty much every campsite near us is full. So we're just going to play it by ear.

I had a root canal this morning, and it was fine and I am in no pain or anything, but I feel like I should use it as an excuse to veg out all day even though I have stuff I really need to be doing.

Yay for everyone having showers!

We're going to go see Guardians of the Galaxy on Sunday, and eat crabs, so I am looking forward to that! And I'm going yard sailing with my mom Saturday morning. Yay!

Burns are starting to heal, and DH comes home today!  I have to get to Goodwill before he comes home and takes inventory of my donations.  Bye-bye, fat pants!

This weekend is the wedding from hell I posted about last week. I'm kind of done being annoyed and looking forward to stuffing my face full of gourmet food and free drinks. I found this morning that their rehearsal dinner tonight is a 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings! So I'm excited for that, and the snarkiness that will inevitably arise among our friends

FI and I are going to the truck and tractor pull tonight with a group of friends. I plan to drink lots of beer so I'm eat celery to save calories.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping with my SIL and little brother's GF (hopefully FSIL someday) for their BM dresses with my mom for the wedding! I'm also going to start cooking for the bridal shower I'm throwing my friend Sunday and decorating and making a sign at the end of the driveway. Then that night my little brother is having his 21st birthday part...so more beer.

Sunday is the bridal shower and I have to clean up my dad's kitchen and bathroom from my little brother's party before people get there. Thank goodness it is supposed to be pretty and we will be having the shower outside. I'm just so ready for this to be over because I want it to go perfectly and it makes me anxious.

@AddieCake - Root canals are automatic excuse for cake while you veg out.  Or a Blizzard.  The cold will make your mouth feel better

Sorry for multiple posts.  Sunday is MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!  So, I'm ducking out of work early today (DH works 1/2 days on Fridays anyway) and we're heading to Austin for the weekend.  My family has a place just outside of Austin, and my mom has scheduled me a birthday massage tomorrow morning.  We're then going to one of my favorite wineries for their annual grape stomp festival.  They have huge barrels of grapes you can stand in and stomp around in.  It's SO much fun.  Can't wait!

Tomorrow we're (hopefully) completing our floors in the spare bedroom. Floors have been removed down to the foundation and FI and his friend think we can have hardwood floors completed by the end of the day. I don't have as much faith in their efficiency but I'm crossing my fingers.

@Jells2dot0, LUCK/VIBES/PRAYERS/THOUGHTS/JUJU sent your way for the treatment! @CMGragain I'm glad your burns are getting better and your pants are going to Goodwill! Everyone else, y'all's weekends sound awesome! @chibiyui, TELL ME HOW THAT MOVIE IS I am debating whether or not to go see it soon. Since there are two more movies that I'm ... encouraging ... FI to pick from to take me to for my birthday this month, I'm trying not to over-movie myself but it sounds like it's going to be SO GOOD.

It's my Friday, but FI's Monday - he starts a new job today! I think we were both on pins and needles waiting for a call, but I'm so so excited because he seemed so much better once he got the call. Yesterday we went out and drove around and he was bored and lethargic and just not himself. Last night he was back to normal and it made me gleeful. I am sad I'm losing weekends with him though. I enjoyed those.

We also get living room furniture and two of the three bedroom suites delivered this afternoon! My parents' living room hasn't had anywhere to sit since we moved in in May, and I'm really excited because we're getting a couch, two chairs, and two ottomans. Hopefully next weekend we can get the dining room table my grandmother gave my mom and start actually turning the new house into a home instead of an empty building. I think that's going to be good for everyone's morale.

It's been a short week for me which is fantastic! But I can't wait for the weekend. I've been in the 6-8 range of pain all week and I'm freakin' fed up with it. And I'm fed up with my doctor rescheduling my appointment yesterday. But I took advantage of it by working from home, which basically meant screwing around at home and pretending to work. And house cleaners came yesterday so I don't have to clean the house this weekend which is great.  

It's going to be a busy weekend. I'm getting into the mindset that we may be selling the house and moving out of state- so there's some unfinished projects I want to get to. I'll probably paint the last guest bedroom this weekend and seal the baseboards. I also want to wash both cars. The yard is a weed den too, so that will need to be addressed- probably on Sunday morning. All that work will mean more pain, but eff it- stuff has to get done.

My Friday is amazing! I just got news that I'll be an intern for my natural history museum! They said they will be able to most likely pay me. They have to work out the budget first though. But this will look so good to grad schools!

It's my best friends pre-bachelorette/bridal shower tomorrow, so I'll be spending the day prepping that.  Then Sunday is some much needed deep house cleaning.

Hey everybody!  Good luck with your treatment @Jells2dot0-- sending prayers your way.  @CMGragain glad to hear your DH is coming home and your burns are finally getting better!  Congratulations @buttercup1958 on the new internship!

We are hosting a BBQ at our place tomorrow so I'm trying to put together a shopping list and get to Costco this afternoon.  My dad called me yesterday and said he is actually coming (shocker) and he's bringing ribs (yay)!  I'm a little disappointed that literally every law school friend I have is out of the country right now, but we have lots of family and college friends, and a couple Knotties might stop by (double yay!).

So I'm cleaning the house today, going shopping, hopefully baking some cookies, and otherwise trying to be productive.  Eek.
