For photographers, what is an ideal timeline for an afternoon wedding and no first look

I'm struggling to figure out what to do.  Almost everything I Googled were for a wedding that occurs late in the day and with a first look.  My wedding is after 130pm (it's a Catholic wedding, thus not able to have a later time) and cocktail hour officially starts at 3pm.  We booked our photographer for 8 hours and might have to add extra time to make sure everything we want to cover is covered (we're not using a videographer).  Can you please help?

  • Photographers generally work on your timeline.

The key here is "to get everything you want covered" what is it you have on that list?
  • I'm confused. Please clarify :)
Do you want to have a first look? I'm a big fan of them.
Do you want photos of you getting ready?
Have you talked to your photog about your wedding day and the timeline?

  • No to first look (FI doesn't want one) Would want to take it just as I'm putting my dress on
