Does anyone have an opinion on Spanx type undergarments? I found this online when I realized I couldn't afford Spanx but I'm not sure if I should try it or not. Also, would it be better to get this one or a top and bottom set? Her Room

Where does a plus size girl get a good underwire bra? I usually get mine at Lane Bryant.

Oh Spanx...

 

I would suggest the "summer spanx"  they aren't as binding as the regular spanx, and the material is a smooth material and much cooler than the traditional "higher power" panties.  Those are my favorite.  Hope this helped!

I like the 'maiden form' brand for 'spanx' - Kohl's carries them.

Depending on your bra size - I like a few Bali bra's style 3432 and 0180 (this style has larger size options).  I prefer these two bras because they are fully adjustable in the strap.

I know Walmart and Target sell off-brand vesions of Spanx, and for the most part those places let you try it out to see if they offer the control you need.

As far as Bra's are concerned, I am a Lane Bryant gal (aka the Cacique brand name).  They really are some of the best one I've found for my size...38H talkin'.  I was lucky that my dress did a decent amount of supporting and sucking for me. 

Above all I would recomend trying on whatever you can to make sure it all works together!  Good Luck!

Most spanx run in the $30-40 range.  I have found that the cheaper brands (like the ones at Kohls and Target) aren't quite as good with shaping as the real spanx are.

I am also used to buy from Lane Bryant. But if you couldn’t find perfect product at Lane Bryant website then avenue will be good choice to find underwire bra at discounted price. Use Avenue Coupons to buy quality underwire bras.

You could also try Yummie by Heather Thompson (Yummie Tummie). They are a competitor of Spanx that don't restrict quite as much as Spanx, so they are much more comfortable.

The Target knock-off rocks! I recommend a corset/ bustier instead of a bra.
