Nature Box gift?

I think a few of you on here have mentioned using Nature Box. They deliver a little box of healthy snacks weekly. I've never used them but I thought it might be the perfect MOH gift. She's in clinical rotations of med school so she can't wear jewelry in the hospital (she's in surgery for the next 12 weeks), she doesn't have time for books/ movies, I haven't seen her new apt so I wouldn't want to pick out anything for the home, she doesn't have time for hobbies like yoga or anything. It sounds like she eats a lot of cafeteria food so this seems like a great idea to me. What do you think?

Would you want the gift option where they just send you the random box, or would you want the option where you select which snacks you want? I have all the time in the world so I'd like peruse through and chose my own each week but I have a feeling that would be inconvenient for her to do since she has a lot of studying in between shifts.

Any other gift ideas if you think this one sucks? :)

Re: Nature Box gift?

  • Lurkers, take note.  THIS is how you do your bridal party gifts.

@Jenna8984, if it were me, I'd want to choose.  And thumbing through a catalog for a few minutes may serve as a nice study break.
  • This sounds like the best gift ever. I totally want to try it out, but it's not something I'll spend money on for myself, so I'd love it as a gift (I have hard time spending money on things I don't "need").

I'd say go with letting her select her own because she might have food issues/dislikes/things she's avoiding that she hasn't shared with you. I'd love a random box, FI would hate it. And she doesn't even have food issues.
  • My BIL gets this for my sister (mostly for when he's working away from home, which is often) and she loves it!

I think that this is a great idea!

  • I think it sounds great. Especially if she's on the go so much.

Reservations about choosing this as said gift:

If she is not into any "healthy foods." I'm down to try healthy snacks, but some of my friends won't touch anything that isn't fast food or overly processed. If you're considering this as a gift for her, you probably already know if she eats healthy snacks or not.

If she is in marathon clinicals where she would not be home for a day or two at a time (I know those surgical clinicals can get crazy) she may also not want a package sitting on her doorstep for an extended amount of time announcing that she is not there. If she has roommates this probably won't really be an issue.

Just some thoughts. Otherwise, I think this is a wonderful gift, and I would totally love it, especially once I start my own clinicals.

  • Ok awesome! So glad I finally figured out her gift!!

My only other BM is obsessed with makeup. She does wedding makeup on the side and she's doing mine. I went with her to Sephora a few weeks ago and she was agonizing over the same fancy eye shadow kit but in two different shades/ tones. She was seriously going back and forth for an hour on which one to buy since they were too pricey to buy both. She finally settled on one and said she'll get the other "one day". So I totally went back and got her that one as her gift!

  • I loved my Nature Box! Had to cut it to divert more money to wedding stuff, but it was really great stuff. It's perfect for keeping in a hospital locker. (I kept mine in my desk cabinet at work.)

FYI you're not stuck with your choice of random or you-pick, at least last I used it. You can log in at any time and select things for your next box or set it back to random. So if you get something you love in a random box, you can select to get it again in your next box and still leave the other 4 items random.

Good points! She does eat a good deal of fruits and nuts type food when I see her. She is more of a snack 7 times a day type of person, where I'm more of a meal 2 times a day person. And she does have a roommie who can bring the package in.
