Wedding Gift Ideas?

One of my co-workers is getting married on 8/30 and I wanted to get her a gift. She is not registered anywhere and she says there is nothing that she needs for her home. I know that I do not have to get her a gift, but I really would like too. 

We are having an office bridal shower at work on 8/29 for my wedding on 9/5 and I wanted to give her a gift at that shower. 

Any ideas?

I wouldn't recommend hijacking the shower to give someone else a gift. I would do it privately.

If she hasn't registered, maybe make a gift basket? Wine, movie gift card, some tasty treats?

To go rogue/no registry, I like to go with something personal from me to them. Is there a particular dish you make that's awesome? You could go off that, like a nice pie plate, fancy cinnamon and vanilla plus your favorite apple pie recipe. Same with a pasta pot and spices with spaghetti sauce recipe, Dutch oven and dumpling stew recipe, etc. Or a favorite movie on DVD with popcorn bowl, snacks and bottle of wine for a date night. Or has there been a favorite item you received at your shower that you think she should have too?

I got my current wedding a cookbook (The New InterCourses) and some fancy-schmancy cooking salts for the shower. Her sister says she like to cook. For the wedding, I got them a set of 16 beer glasses, 4 different kinds. They like to drink beer, so I figured this might be nice. Go for something she enjoys and pick from that

I would not give her a gift at your shower.  Is she not having a work shower??  That would be the more appropriate place to give a gift.  Or, do it privately.

She is not having a shower and she said she didn't want to steal my thunder. I don't think of it that way at all and very much want to share the special occassion with her. Its nothing formal, just some cake and snacks. 

I was thinking of getting her this.

Steak knives are nice. 

I would still give the gift to her privately. Saying she doesn't want to steal your thunder is like, a humble way of saying, I don't want a shower/attention.

@chibiyui That's a good point, I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable. I guess I got so carried away with my own stuff and just wanted to share it with her. 

When I give her the gift I will do so without bringing any attention to it.
