Hi all! I was in Madison this weekend to get some details ironed out for my November wedding...did some trials; thought I would let you know my thoughts so far; the good, the bad and the ugly!
First, we have already booked the Masonic Center for our ceremony and reception, so we visited there for a taste test and to see what we needed to rent in order to make the ceremony go off without a hitch. The taste test was PHENOMENAL. Oh my gosh, I am so excited to eat! Haha. We had the ahi tuna. and then two different chicken dishes, chicken with a mushroom sauce and chicken apple almond. We are going with the apple almond, it was SO GOOD. So our choices for dinner will be chicken apple almond, ahi tuna and prime rib. Yum. We also decided on some butler style appetizers, and beer and wine.
The ceremony spot is gorgeous, I am super excited for that too. All in all, the Masonic Center was perfect.
Next we went to Mt. Horeb to meet with a florist, at Victorias Garden. Her name was Ellie adn she also was perfect. I described what I was looking for, she had the same visions as me! She loves her job and its almost infectious. Was great.
The next day we went to meet with the rehearsal dinner spot and the caterer for the dinner. We are using Viviannis Catering in Middleton adn Forrestals in Middleton. We met with the caterer first, and he is great. He had some great recommendations for us; and was very cost effective and aware. Then we walked over to Forrestals which is a GREAT little joint for a rehearsal dinner. We will have teh whole building to ourselves.
We also saw the rooms we blocked at the Comfort Suites in Middleton. Again, all was great there.
The only NOT great was the hair trial...my niece and I went to meet with Brideheads as they have been highly recommended here, and quite honestly, I thought she did a terrible job on my hair and on my nieces hair. So its back to the drawing board for that.
All in all a productive weekend! I am so excited for November to get here.
