Polish Bread, Salt & Wine Tradition

Hi Ladies! Are there any other Polish brides out there doing this tradition? If so, how are you having it be introduced and explained by the DJ? Are you doing it after the dances? Thanks!

I've never heard of it, but since my FI is polish, I'd be interested in learning more about it.

My husband's family is Ukrainian. My MIL has described this many times. In our family, the tradition has been lost.

The parents, Godparents or BM  present the couple with a loaf of bread 'so you will never be hungry.'

I usually see it right before the toasts, once everyone is seated for dinner. Usually the parents presenting the items do a little explanation (here is bread so you will never go hungry, wine so you will never be thirsty and have a happy life, and salt to remind you of life's difficulties, and to get through them together, etc).
