Is it bad...

That we have only been married a week and a half and all we've done since we got home from the honeymoon is lay around, watch tv, and play online?

Re: Is it bad...

  • Sounds like good decompressing to me!

Why would that be bad?  What should you be doing?

  • I wish DH and I could have spent time laying around, watching TV and playing online after the wedding. I had to go right back to work!

  • Nope.

I did that for 2 weeks (**hangs head**), only I have read the entire Harry Potter series as well (it's been roughly a month)

We were home for a few days and H went to California on business, so I went to work and relaxed. And that was all I did for almost two weeks. We were both exhausted after the wedding.

  • Nope.

We get married on a Saturday. FI has work all of the following week plus a full-time course load of afternoon/night classes.

I'll probably take a few days off and sit on my ass.

  • Good. Feeling less bad now. Whenever I have time off I feel like I should be doing something constructive at home. After the wedding and the trip though I'm just so exhausted.
  • Dude, that sounds awesome! Be constructive later.
  • I've been laying around on my couch since May!! LOL It's not so bad!

  • Not bad at all. Being constructive at home is totally overrated.

  • The only issue I see is that you didn't include "sex" in your list.

Lol. There has been plenty of sex.
  • DH and I had a conversation like this recently....we went to the beach for the afternoon, and talked about renting a beach house for a week next late spring/early fall.
He commented "but you wouldn't want to do that, not much in the way of activities..."

I responded "ARE YOU KIDDING?! I'd LOVE to have a week where we turn off the phones, ignore the email, and just relax, walk/lay on the beach, cook together, sleep in, and play video games."

Him "Let's do it! I knew I loved you for a reason! (teasing about the video games)"

We are going for a mini vacation the friday after thanksgiving and doing the same thing. I hope the weather is nasty (Washington State Coast) and we can just sit in our room and watch the storms over the ocean.

  • Sounds like good times to me.

  • That's what I do every weekend! I'm serious. I don't know what all these "things" people have to do all the time are (unless you have kids). My best friend is so tan and she's like well we're always outside all weekend...I'm like doing what? I don't leave my house (and sometimes my bed) on weekends. And  I love every second of it.

  • I literally wanted to do NOTHING after we got back from our mini-moon.  Fortunately, I married the right man who fully indulged along side me in laying around and staying relaxed, doing whatever it was we felt like...which was basically eat, watch movies, walk on the beach, read, and hole up away from our families for a while.  It was WONDERFUL after all the wedding stress.  Sometimes "nothing" is the best "something" that you can possibly do.
  • Bad? This sounds like bliss.

  • I did that the month after my wedding.  I had to go back to work the next week.  No honeymoon.  So when I came home I was pooped.
Only thing I did was watch Netflix, sew, and work on my garden.
Same here, but replace sewing with knitting. :-)

Honestly, it's been a month and I am only now getting my energy back!
