What do you do if someone sends you a gift who was not invited to the wedding?

I've had 2 gifts sent to the house, in advance of the wedding, from people who were not invited to the wedding. One was from a coworker, and one extended family. Do you have to invite people if they send gifts? It's especially awkward because the invites are already sent out, and I'm not on good terms with those who sent the gifts. I'm honestly not sure why they sent them.

All you have to do is send a prompt thank you card. It's really not awkward at all- they apparently like you, so they sent you a gift

That's not uncommon.  I received several gifts from people that weren't invited to my wedding.  Just send them a thank you note. Invite to wedding is not required.
