HELP!!! International Cuisine at Reception

I really want to have international cuisine at my wedding reception 9-19-2015.  I am getting married in Myrtle Beach.  I want to have different stations featuring a different culture....ie: American, Asian, Italian, etc.  Aside from trying to find a single caterer that specializes in international cuisine, I don't know what else to do.  Has anyone else accomplished this successfully?  Any suggestions??

  • I can't imagine it would be really hard to find one caterer that can handle those types of food. I feel that most caterers I've seen can pull off quite a few types of cuisine. Maybe try your local board?
  • It doesn't seem to me like this is a difficult request for a caterer at all.  The types of food you listed are all readily available.  Our venue offers all kinds of options, including those you listed and then some.

Try your local board for sure.

Have you met with caterers yet?

  • I've had this at a company party and it was a big hit. Mmmmm steamed potstickers...

I think the key was they had a combo of prepped things set out, and made to order things. So if there was a line at the pasta station, you could grab a spring roll, etc.

  • Most caterers can handle basic cuisine from most nationalities. You could have sliders, egg rolls, pasta stations, beignets, and all kinds of things. Even if they don't offer it on their menu, they might be willing to add it for your wedding.

Have you tried asking on your local board?
  • Thanks....this lowered my stress level!!
  • Just remember...if you have too many things going on all the stations will be emitting competing aromas.  The idea of smelling spaghetti from an Italian station, curry from an Indian station, salmon from an American bistro station, etc....it could be a lot.  You may want to edit with a careful eye.
