Envelope Addressing Options?!

I have ordered my save the dates and invites, but the person I bought them from charges way too much to address everything for us.  Anyone have any DIY recommendations that worked well for them that was cost effective but didn't necessarily look DIY?

Re: Envelope Addressing Options?!

  • For our save-the-dates I addressed them in neat hand-writing and used a stamp for our return address. For our invitations, I typed up everyone's address and printed it out on plain paper. I slid the typed address underneath the outer envelope and traced it. It took longer than neatly handwriting it but it looks great. Another suggestion I almost tried was to print out the addresses directly onto the envelopes in a very very pale grey and trace over that.

I just addressed my STDs in my normal handwriting. I bought some calligraphy pens and did that for the invites. ETA: I have attended 12 weddings in the past 2 years. I couldn't tell you which were DIY addressed and which weren't,
  • I would suggest the same method as CTYankeeBride as in my opinion doing so will make your envelopes handwritten and that too in a desired calligraphy.

My daughter had a custom return address stamp made and bought colored ink pads to coordinate with the invitations. She also bought sealing wax to close the invitations. They were beautiful. Bonus is the return address stamp was good for their thank you notes, holiday cards etc... A little fancy for bills though. I don't know where she had her stamp made, but Vista Print has them for very reasonable prices.

DD's invitations looked home made, in a good way.

Your envelopes are SUPPOSED to look DIY!  That is the whole idea of the bride addressing them personally in her own handwriting!
