Tacos in Chicago?

The NJ knotties made me jealous with their post. I'm also thinking there may be some other Chicagoans lurking around this board.

Anyone want to grab tacos next week? Southside here but flexible...

Northside girl here... Janitzo Burrito on Broadway. They have vegetarian AND avocado tacos, in addition to the usual. I love them!

I was last in Chicago in... 2009? 2010? Something like that. A friend of mine lived in the Crystal Lake area, so I went up to see her a few times. She has since moved to the city, so I will definitely let you know when I visit again.

I would love to come to Chicago! My ex was there back in like 2007/2008 when he was in the Navy and I fell in love with the city when I went to visit. Have wanted to get back there since then and just haven't made it.

Wow. I'm in Chicago I live north, Lincoln Square but I'm always down in the south loop for classes and I can totally go wherever. Don't know of any taco places though.... just moved here this past winter and I haven't had time to explore.

It sounds like we're all spread out. What's convenient for everyone? I'm flexible on cuisine as well!

My first thought was the Oak Park/Forest Park area because it's near the L and 290 but I'm open to ideas.

Well what's easier? weekends or weeknights for everyone? I'm thinking that trying to peg down the time might be harder than a where.

I can do Oak Park-ish area (My mom grew up there!). Weekends are better for me, but I can swing a week night. Unforutnately, Oak Park/River Forest area is about an hour away from me, so It would have to be after 6ish, or probably later if it was a week day. 

Closer to me would obviously be easier for me on a week night, but it sounds like we are all pretty spread out, so we should stick close to the city.

Thursday and Fridays or weekends are easier for me and I think sticking to the city is a great idea so that it's more central for everyone.

Whoa. I'm from the one town over, Woodstock.  Moved to Chicago in 2006 though.

The Loop is all the chain-restaurants but what about River North? Mercadito is a bit pricey but awesome, and there's also XOCO (amazing), Cantina Laredo, and Moe's Cantina.

I have absolutely no recommendations... I'm Chicago newbie so I'm sure whatever the rest of you ladies pick out will be amazing.

Xoco is good but I haven't tried the rest.

FI's originally from Little Village so we always just go there. Not recommending that for a meet up though.
