Wedding

I am having backyard wedding and it about 50 people coming and it a lunch reception should I go all out or keep it simple

Re: Wedding

  • I, personally, prefer simple weddings.  Whom are you trying to impress?

  • Thank you but should I still get a Dj
  • Totally optional.  My daughter used an IPOD.  Food and drink are more important to your guests.

  • Thank you for all your help
  • Are you having a dance floor? I've noticed that unless there's a clear space for dancing, people don't really dance, in my experience.

You can plan a beautiful wedding for not a lot of money. What are you doing for food?
  • If you have a DJ, get a dance floor! Otherwise an Ipod and a nice playlist will do for background music.

  • I had an early evening wedding/reception, both held in my mom's patio area.  We had about 35 guests.  Although intimate and a bit more on the casual side, we still had a wedding cake, groom's cake, catered food, florist, photographer.  We didn't have a DJ, and used an IPod for music instead, but that was only because there was not room for a DJ and a dance floor.  However, I think a DJ is fine for a backyard wedding if that is what you want.  I also wore a big, poofy bridal gown and my DH wore a tux.  Though I found out after the fact that I guess tuxes are not supposed to be worn until after 6PM.  Whatever.  Victimless crime.

Backyard weddings are great beause you can really choose to have the event as casual or as fancy as you want and it will be perfectly lovely, either way.  Though I would side-eye waiters in white gloves and tuxes, lol.
