The tale of the girl in white

When we got the photos back from our wedding there were several of a girl in white and her boyfriend. I didn't know who they were, and neither did my husband. I thought it was strange that we had so many pictures of this stranger in white.

This weekend, we were at my MIL's house with a few aunts and cousins. We brought the disk of photos and were going through them. When we got to the couple I asked who they were. MIL said that he was someone's son- I think one of her friends- and that was his guest. She wasn't invited, he just brought her. One of DH's cousins was at the table with them. She said, "OMG them!" And went on to tell us all about how she demanded to be the center of attention (hence wearing white to two strangers' wedding) and kept making out with her boyfriend at the table in front of everyone. She also apparently kept asking the photographer to take their photo.

No one knows what her name is, or if she's still with the guy or anything. I know it is super immature of me to even be posting this, but I was just floored this weekend to find out that someone I didn't know, who wasn't even invited to my wedding, showed up and tried to upstage everyone.

  • SO weird and random.  But, I have to say, kinda funny?  Maybe it's funny to me bc it wasn't my wedding.
  • It's funny to me too. I noticed her at the wedding, thought she was tacky but didn't think about her again. I put one of her pictures on facebook assuming she was close to my husband. Then he asked me who she was and I realized that neither of us knew her. Just a lot of head shaking.

  • At our wedding, my mom and aunt asked me who was the random guy there in biker gear getup?  I had no idea.  Apparently this guy was in jeans, biker boots, leather vest, and a doo-rag walking up the main aisle of the church as the bridesmaids processed in.  I was still in the bride's room waiting to walk down the aisle, so I had no clue and thought they were making this up to mess with me.

Months pass by and we get the video back.  Mom & Dad watched the video with me & DH.  Mom pointed at the screen and said "see?  There was a random dude in biker gear at your wedding!"

DH said "oh yeah, that's Uncle Mark."

Apparently Uncle Mark was out back smoking while we did table visits, so I never met him.

Uncle Mark needs to work on his damn timing.
I don't know why this made me laugh so hard.

  • She photo bombed your wedding? Several times? Wow. Some people.

  • I feel sorry for laughing at this.  What a tacky, insufferable woman!  Good thing you don't have to see her again.

  • Well, I was totally expecting a ghost story.  I thought MIL would be all, "That's my cousin...who died 40 years ago!"

I'm relieved that I won't need to sleep with the TV and all the lights on tonight :)
I was totally hoping for a ghost story too, but I'm glad @lurkergirl doesn't need to be worried now.  I'm still really hoping we get some ghost pics at our wedding.

Well, I actually did take a photo looking in to the hospital where we're holding the ceremony and everyone said they thought there was a ghost in it.  I'm not really sure I buy in to that stuff.  I wish I still had that, but I took it about ten years ago, and back in the day I was really bad at backing up my hard drive.

  • Watch it, @missdelilah

You're creeping into sleeping with the lights on territory ;)

  • @lurkergirl All right! I'll stop. And if we get any even seemingly ghost photos back from the wedding I'll put a warning in the title.
