Affordable Rehersal dinner ideas

We are getting married in April in NE and are looking for an affordable rehersal dinner location.  I would love to have a back yard BBQ to calm everyone before the formal event, however- sicne were getting married in April I cant guarentee the weather for such an event.Any suggestions?

Do you have enough space inside to move it indoors of the weather doesn't work out? I'm a huge fan on the casual BBQ's or a pizza party.

we're having a bbq for our rehearsal dinner in September. we have no back up rain plan though besides everyone going in the house. if that's not a viable option, what about finding a park that has a covered area? we're having a guy do the grilling and i know they can/will go wherever you want them. if you're doing the grilling yourself though may be a bit difficult to haul everything around.

We had our rehearsal dinner in the upstairs room at Alexis Greek Restaurant on Burnside. It was perfect and inexpensive. We had tons of greek salad, great lamb and turkey kabobs, really awesome spanikopita, etc.

We had pizza at the church and I highly recommend something laid back.  Everyone was pretty wound up and it was nice to have something relaxing.  One of my good friends had a picnic in a park and it was way fun, too.  Nice and relaxing, like you said.  How about reserving a park with a covered picnic area.  I don't know NE well, but there's got to be one.  Then you can have close family/friends help with food, get stuff at Costco, or have someone cater (Buster's maybe?).

Lucky Lab (in Multnomah Village) and Old Town Pizza are both good spots for a laid-back rehearsal dinner.
