Etiquette of a venue change

Well, it has been a very stressful last few days for me. It is looking like we will need to find a new place to have our reception for our November wedding. I have not sent invites yet and I was wondering if I needed to make a special note about the venue change on our info card. Our STD had our wedding website link and the website states where the reception was originally going to be. I don't want guests to be confused that the website said one thing and the invite says another later. What do you think?

    Change the wedding website... maybe just an "update" mention then list the new venue. You can also spread the word around a bit when you talk to people. Maybe Mom will tell Aunt Suzie and so on. Then, just send out the invites. If I had any confusion, I'd go back to the website and see the "update". I would also go wherever the invitation told me.

    Joan gave great advice. Tell people who see you see verbally just to confirm and they'll spread the word and an update on your website will suffice.

    I would agree with PPs UNLESS you had to switch it to an entirely new town or something. Are your accommodations staying the same? Some people make reservations for things when they get the STD and may not realize things have been changed once your invites get sent out.

    The venue is being super shady, I've caught the lady who runs the hall in multiple lies. She is not upholding her contractual obligations to us. Super stressful and I would not wish this on anyone!!

    I am so sorry to hear that...I hope you didn't pay in full/get some money back.  That really sucks :/
