What is the craziest thing you bought online?

Re: What is the craziest thing you bought online?

  • @cwradford I use a delivery service that I think is local to NYC and Philly, called FreshDirect.  They don't have brick and mortar stores, just a distribution center.  They have an option where you pay about $70 per year for unlimited delivery, and the minimum order is only $30.  I LOVE THEM.  I am not exaggerating when I say online grocery ordering changed my life.  The time and money I save are immeasurable.

Now, if I lived anywhere near a Trader Joe's or even probably a Whole Foods, I would not use FD.  But I have to drive 40 minutes to get to either one of those stores, and the local grocery options for me are either A) super shady and have terrible produce, or B) super fancy corner gourmet stores which will charge you $2.99 for a single avocado.  I prefer organic produce and prefer not to pay out my ass for it, hence FD is the best option.

  • I don't buy hardly anything online. I have amazon prime and can't decide if it's worth it. Pretty much everything is cheaper in stores here.
  • Has anyone tried Amazon Fresh yet? My address is available for delivery now but I haven't tried it yet.
  • Bras and some big boob friendly shirts. Also corsets. Lots of costume parts.
  • Spermicide.  Ordered it off Amazon.

I moved to a smaller town and neither Walmart nor Safeway carry it!  Walmart has the pre-filled applicators, but I hate those because I go through them so fast and they're expensive.  And then I bought the last one, and the shelf was empty for a week or two.  Not much of a market I guess.
  • I'm so jealous of you lucky people who can order groceries online. I hate going grocery shopping, but there's no grocery delivery service in my area. I actually have to go out, which means I have to get dressed because I refuse to be a Person of Walmart.

The weirdest thing I've ever ordered online... probably a huge decorative fish-shaped plate for my mom.  Or sex toys.

  • Not me but my husband (before I met him) was looking for the book Eragon. He didn't do his research and accidentally bought an Eragon book BAG.
