Weekend!!!

I'm so ready! What's everyone up to? I know there are some weddings this weekend; I will raise a glass to y'all for sure!

Tonight is date night!  Our church has a cool program where they show a short (5-10 minute) video about marriage, then everyone is encouraged to have a date night.  The church even provides child care (which we don't need, but I think is cool).  

Some friends (possibly including my crazy anti-Muslim friend from yesterday) are coming over tomorrow night to watch college football and have a board game night.  Which means tomorrow DH and I will be cleaning the house (not that we don't normally, but a better clean than normal).

What is everyone else up to?

Frenzied housecleaning in preparation for an appraiser to come look at my house, so I can refinance and get some cash out to make the repairs that the appraiser will probably point out to me.  I have some wood rot and carpenter ant damage, and a plumbing issue that I need to address.

Nothing tonight.    

I'm bar tending at 2 weddings this weekend.   One ends late tomorrow.  The other I have to start work at 8 am.  I'm told to expect to work until 9 pm that night.  I'm tired just thinking about them. 

One is at a ranch with a b-list country singer performing.  That should be interesting.   DH the chef at both weddings so at least I will get to see him.

Tomorrow we are probably tackling some storage and organization issues around the house.

Sunday we are getting our engagement pics done, yippee!! If we can figure out transportation, we may also go apple picking with FILs on Sunday.

Tonight, I was supposed to go out for tacos with some of the other Chicago knotties, but likely won't make it due to some craziness at work

Tomorrow I am doing my first 5k with a friend. I really wanted to run it, but decided last minute to bring the kids along and pull them in a wagon/let them walk if they want. So, obviously we will be walking now. 

Sunday we are going to pick out wedding bands and get my little guy sized for his tux. Kid is going to be the most dapper 6-year-old ever.

I have the weekend off.

We were supposed to go to the Ren faire on Saturday, but our friends had to bail. So Saturday is still up in the air. I might go through my closet and purge. It needs it.

I am going to some semi local wineries on Sunday with another friend. I am very much looking forward to that.

Tonight I'll just chill with H. Probably do whatever he wants tonight, since I've vegged the last two nights.

Gonna put aprons on some chickens tonight, then go home and SLEEP. Probably after playing entirely too much ESO. Maybe have a redbull-rager cleaning party tomorrow. It's so NICE OUT.

We are getting our wedding booze tomorrow! Of course I will be bringing home lots and lots of samples. So probably nothing Sunday.

I've been cleaning and organizing the house all day. We have so much extra furniture, and it's all beat-up crap from Big Lots and Target**, so I'm putting pictures up on Craigslist for the college folk who would appreciate free furniture.

HGTV has inspired me. I keep walking into every room, pretending I'm a buyer (even though we rent), and getting rid of all the extra stuff. It already looks so much cleaner, even though I haven't dusted or washed the floors yet. FIL is coming to visit next week, so I'm doing a deep clean, as in washing baseboards and shit.

Tonight, we're going out to an awesome restaurant to celebrate my MOH's recent promotion and my last day at my soul-sucking helljob (which was last Friday, but we had to postpone). We'll probably do the bulk of the cleaning tomorrow, since I really need to shower and get ready. Sunday will be spent doing homework and watching more HGTV. I swear I'm addicted.

** Most Target furniture is perfectly fine, and I have a gorgeous desk from them, but this is the super-cheap stuff that's meant to last for about a year, and it's going on its fifth year.

Then I will be doing all the crazy Homework that my professors decided to give me, This includes about 300 pages of reading and 3 different 3-5 page papers.

FI is going on Bachelor Party # 1 (yes he is having multiple...) so I'll probably just have some much needed alone time this weekend. I haven't had a single second to myself in a long time. I have a bunch of cleaning to do and this is the last low-key weekend I'll have until after the wedding!

Tonight I'm going home to feed dinner and OJ to a sick FI. Tomorrow he'll be gone all day (if he's feeling better) so I will probably do a giant purge of all the clothes/shoes/crap I don't need that has been cluttering up my apartment. Sunday I play sports, woo!

My FI was supposed to go out of town for the opening weekend of bow season, but his plans got cancelled last minute.  He's gone all week though, so I am secretly glad his plans changed because now I have him all to myself!

Going to hang with the fam-dam tomorrow.

I'm working with the construction crew tomorrow in desperate hopes that the backyard will be ready in time for our wedding.  I'm going to try and get some more painting done inside too.

Other than that, house cleaning, dog walking, laundering, and the usual domesticity of the weekend.

H and I are headed to a really nice hotel with three terrific on site restaurants not too far from our home for a mini-moon.  I burned my only vacation time this year on a week long camping trip with H, my stepkids, my IL's, and 3 other couples that are friends with IL's...not exactly what I would call a honeymoon!  So I'm really excited that H and I will have some time for just us at a lovely hotel and we will be able to enjoy a few delicious meals without having to select a restaurant based on my SD's super picky palate!  Bonus IL's are watching our 5mo puppy for us too so no 3:40am wakeup calls :-)  Extra Bonus: My company does a lot of business with the hotel/restaurant we are visiting and as a nod to our honeymoon has made arrangements for a nice bottle of champagne and an ocean view table at dinner along with a few other surprises :-) :-) :-)  I love the company I work for!

DH is chaperoning a youth group thing overnight tonight. I'm bummed, because I feel like I hardly saw him at all this week, and he won't be home until tomorrow evening (and Sunday, at least the morning, is a work day for him). So right now I'm moping on the couch...

Tomorrow I'm heading into school for a bit to get organized and finish my lesson plans.
