Wedding Gift Bags? (not Welcome Bags)

Has anyone thought of giving gift bags as guests enter for the ceremony? I'm getting married on a cruise ship and was thinking this might be a way to get stuff on board for the guests since we won't have time to set up anything before the ceremony. I'm thinking of including cameras with I-Spy list, tissues, water, cruise ship drink coupons, cookies, welcome/thank-you letter, map of the ship. These bags would be given to guests as they check in to board the ship (so I don't have to carry all the stuff on board). What do you think? What would you include that I have not? Oh I am putting in kid stuff for those with little kids.

  • Oh By the way, the guests are not sailing with us. They come on board and attend the wedding and a reception, and then leave before the ship sails.

If they are not sailing with you and they're just on the ship for the ceremony and reception, why would they need drink coupons?

I think all of this sounds nice, but you certainly don't have to do it.  You've pretty much included anything I would think of.  I'm just confused on the drink coupons.

  • We all board the ship at the same time when the ship clears customs. I go to my stateroom to change while the guests can walk around and explore the ship. I am paying for them to eat at the lunch buffet on the lido deck, so I thought it would be nice if they could get a drink with their meal. I still have to work this out with the cruise line. We should board around 11am the wedding will be at about 1, the reception (open bar, cake, and canapes) will about 1.5 hours long.
