Aisle / Pew Decorations

Are you decorating the pews / aisles at your ceremony?

We need something easy to remove, since we have to clear up after the ceremony. (my friend / coordinator has already offered to do this for us during the receiving line but I don't want it to be a hassle).  I don't want anything that needs hooks or tape.  Thinking maybe ribbon loops for something to hang.

Thanks!

Re: Aisle / Pew Decorations

  • You could get large bows and loop them around the top of the pew so they stick out into the aisle.

Honestly though, I always think it's most elegant when there are floral arrangements flanking the doors to the sanctuary and then more flowers around the alter. I'd save your money on the aisle decor and focus on first impression (the door) and the focal point (the alter).

  • I'm not really using any flowers. And the setup of the church doesn't accommodate anything by the doors, either.

Might do bow loops.  Might do something with paper.  Decisions, decisions....

We did white bows, with organza ribbon, in our wedding colours, at the end of the aisles. We did every second aisle though, as I thought doing each would look too busy. We had a decorator, and she was able to quickly get them up, and taken down, easily.

I've seen a bunch of options though, as far as what you can do for this kind of thing. Bows, ribbons, (or both), flowers, little lanterns, etc. Pinterest has some really neat ideas, if you aren't too sure what you want.

  • Even if you're not doing that much in the way of flowers - we're doing ribbons that loop around the pews (just the front 4 or so) with a spray of baby's breath. Nice and affordable too!
  • We are getting married outside with the cocktail hour and reception inside at the same venue. I am going to use lanterns to line the aisle along with sprinkled flower petals. The lanterns will then be moved to line the side walk to the mansion.

PS- let your coordinator do the clean up...that's her job! That's the point of having a coordinator!

  • Honestly we skipped aisle decor. Everyone's attention is up front most of the time anyway and when they are looking at the aisle, they're looking at the people walking down it. Maybe just do a runner?
