Groom's and Groomsmen's Attire??

Hello everyone!

So FI and I are getting married on Mackinac Island next August and he REALLY hates getting dressed up - I'm talking I'm lucky if he get's into a polo shirt and some khakis. But for the wedding we came to a compromise that instead of wearing a tux, he and his groomsmen would wear just a normal suit - like the photo I attached.

The only problem is that the only place near me (Detroit) I can find any kind of suit "set" (as opposed to buying piece by piece), is Mens Wearhouse. Now, that's not bad because they usually have deals going on anyways, but I'm wondering if there's any other place out there, relatively close by, that is like a Mens Wearhouse.

Thanks so much for your help!!

  • Wait, what? You can't find any gray suits except at Men's Warehouse? Generally when you buy a suit, there's the jacket and the pants and maybe a vest. You grab the parts and go; sometimes they sell them as separates and sometimes they don't, but it doesn't really matter. Have you looked at department stores or even places like Kohl's?

If you're looking to rent, look at local formal wear rental chains. We went through a local company for our tux rentals. They had plenty of suits to pick from as well.

  • Aside from Men's Warehouse, places to look for suits are any department store (Macy's is my favorite regular department store, but also a Nordstrom's, Bloomingdales, etc.), Jos A. Bank (basically the same store as Men's Warehouse), Milton's (don't know if that's nationwide), etc. My fiance has to wear suits on occasion for work, and he's always just walked in, got measured, tried on a few, and came back to pick them up a week later. (Only because most stores do some tailoring for you).
