We showed off our engagement and wedding bands, now show off your SOs wedding band ( Or engagement ring) if you have it!

I just found these pictures and forgot we took them the morning leaving for our honeymoon!

DHs is a tungsten carbide ring with a gold inlay with diamonds. He wanted a two-toned ring and had to have something that could easily come off his finger in an emergency because of his work.

This is his engagement ring. I bought it for him since we will have been engaged for over 3 years when we get married. He was pretty psyched to get it.

I love H's band. I helped him pick it out, and we had it engraved with our initials and wedding date. He absolutely loves it.

I'm on my phone, but DH has a plain 4mm platinum band.

It's interesting to see such a wide variety of widths. DHs is 8 mm, because he thought 6 and 7 looked too dainty and feminine. But he is also 6'6. That might be why he needs a wider ring.

I don't have a picture but I have a funny story! While we were eating at the reception, H's best man told me to have our anniversary engraved inside his ring so he never has an excuse for forgetting it. Or, he said, do like his SIL did to his brother's ring - engraved "Terry put it back on" inside it. Ha!

DH's ring is in the same post as my e-ring. He has an 8mm brushed silver band. Which he managed to scratch pretty badly at the wedding. His ring is enormous compared to my 2mm band!

My DH has black ceramic with blue carbon fiber inlay. He is an electrician and does welding as a hobby, so he wanted something non-metal that he could wear at work. He had a tungsten e-ring, but saw a photo of a guy who's finger literally blew up because he touched it with a welder, and he never wore his e-ring again after that. So, there was no way he was getting a metal ring, or if he did, he'd never wear it. He gets a lot of comments on it. It stands out since it is dark color and different than typical ring, but everyone loves it.  Although it only matters that he loves it.

Mine is yellow gold solitaire with simple gold wedding band.  Pretty traditional.  E-ring is a vintage solitaire that belonged to DH's grandmother.

On the interior, instead of engraving date or quote, we decided to get our fingerprints engraved in each others ring (my fingerprint in his ring, his in mine).  His had to be laser engraved, since it's ceramic. We had my band custom made from www.brentjess.com.  They send a kit to get impressions of fingerprint, then make a mold and custom pour each ring. We both love it.

My DH has a white gold 4 mm high polish ring that looks like the one @raissyrais 's FI chose.  He wears a 7 1/4, so the thicker rings (both width of the band and actual thickness from the inside to the outside) looked really weird on him or were just uncomfortable.

My DH initially had picked out a 4 mm band with the middle being brushed white gold and the edges were high polished.  After 3 attempts by Kay's shop to size and do the brush/high polish on the ring correctly, it was still jacked up.  First they got the brush finish all over the edges, then they got the high polish finish into the middle so that it looked like giant gouges in the ring all the way around.  Since they never got it right, he switched to the high polish ring because they can't screw that up.

FI wants a giant dragon ring with an emerald eye.  Anyone have a clue where to get one lol

I don't have any pictures of it. DH wanted the same ring his dad has so he got a plain yellow gold band. I think it's 4mm. He had trouble with deciding on the thickness of the band because he liked the bigger ones better but they looked too big for his hand.

FI liked something like this in a jewelry store but didn't want to spend the money on it ($500). He remembers losing/damaging rings from his first marriage so he wanted something he wouldn't feel bad about damaging. A girl in our office mentioned that she and her wife bought this ring for cheap on Amazon and it turned out to be almost identical.

Plus, at $20, we can keep a supply of them around. Neither of us is terribly sentimental about jewelry though.

We both fell in love with the idea of the fingerprint engraving as soon as we saw it.  It just seemed more personal than other engravings.  And we didn't have any cute quotes or inside jokes that would have been personal to us.  With mine the grooves are deep enough that I can feel them if I start turning my ring, and I often find myself doing that when I'm thinking about him. Like, not just playing with my ring, I've never played with my e-ring, but doing it just to feel his fingerprint. It kind of makes me feel closer to him knowing that his fingerprint is right there and I can feel it anytime I want. Okay... that sounded really cheesy and almost makes me want to gag, but it's still true. I'll blame it on being a newlywed.

Yeah, DH's ring would have been $400 at the jewelry store, but we found it on Amazon for $20... exact same ring... we bought two of them, just in case. So, he does have a backup at home if needed. They are good quality too. We only got the real wedding band engraved for now though.  But, we have actually talked about buying them in one size larger & one size smaller, since ceramic can't be resized.  That way if he gains or loses weight, he already has a backup to wear. We aren't sure if we would engrave them all or not.  It would be nice to have them all engraved, but it's also nice to have the REAL wedding band contain something a little more special... and to be able to tell it apart from the replacements.   

 

But, yeah, Amazon is an awesome place for ring shopping.  Especially if looking for just something plain and simple.

I ended up with a 2 mm white gold band with a milgrain edge.  Super simple.

FI was super relieved when he found out that our wedding bands didn't have to match.

My H has the same one as @alucky23's SO wants. It was the only one he really liked out of all the ones we looked at.
