So I'm not sure how many of you know this, but my best friend, who is a professional photographer, was set to fly in from the Chicago area to photograph our wedding, because we are doing this on a super strict budget and couldn't afford to hire someone. She ended up having to bow out a few weeks ago because of financial reasons, and that left us in a lurch. I was going to go ahead and take the hour of photography around the grounds that comes with our package and just deal with all the pictures from people's cells and cameras.
I just texted a close friend of ours who lives here in southern California with us and who will be at the wedding, asking her if she'd be willing to follow us around after the ceremony all through the Strip, at various locations. This would be our only chance, and although I didn't want to be super late to our in suite reception at Mandalay Bay, I REALLY wanted the photos. She's not a professional photographer, but she's GREAT!!! And best part is: she said yes!!!
My fiancé just brought up a great idea! We're just going to forgo the pictures we get in the package (we really can't afford to purchase outside our plan anyway) and have our friend start immediately! That way we're getting another whole hour to travel around and get the real pictures we wanted!
I'm really excited now....
