MIL called the other day to let DK know that his FIL's (cousin, I think) had just passed away. The sad part was that the guy's daughter was getting married in less than 2 weeks. It sounds like he had been pretty sick for a while (cancer), so it's good that he isn't suffering anymore, but the family is pretty devastated, especially with the timing.
I know this isn't as tragic as your BM not staying at the same resort as the rest of the WP, but still pretty sad.
