Just came from a beautiful wedding last night and DJ Mike Walton provided the music. I simply must let others know how rudely he treated me during the evening. I was a bridesmaid and after the other bridesmaids and I noticed the dwindling time, I was given the task to go up to him and ask him about the traditional "dollar dance." As I went to approach him, I saw that it was nearing the end of a song and he was clearly about to mix into the next one, so I patiently waited until he was done before I walked up to him so as not to distract him.
I then said, "Whenever you think it would work with the music, we still need to do BRIDE's dollar dance." I was completely and utterly SHOCKED when he GLARED at me and venomously spit out that he had a list of things to do and "I don't need YOU to tell ME how to do my job!" There was absolutely no reason for him to speak to me the way that he did and it was totally unprofessional. I was so shocked that he just yelled at me that I just looked at him in disbelief, said, "Ok" and walked away. I never said that we had to stop everything and do it immediately; I worded it so that the ball was in his court to do it when he felt it would work well to transition into with the music selections. I have never been spoken to like that in my life and he will surely NOT be invited to do another family wedding after I spoke with all of my family over how he had barked at me.
As a bridesmaid, it's my job to do everything I can to make sure that our bride's day was absolutely PERFECT. How dare DJ Mike Walton speak to me the way he did when all I was doing was making sure that every last thing was done without being rushed for our bride. Shame on him!
Also, he didn't have the song for the Mother-Son dance and thank God our bride had the song on her phone to use. She complained to us that he said he had "crossed it out" and she had no clue why he would have done that and been unprepared for one of the most important parts of the evening.
