Re: Daenarys Adeline.

  • Truth. The people two houses down from us- the Ross family- named their baby Ross. Ross Ross. WTF? Why?
That one american idol guy's name was Philip Phillips.

  • I have a cousin named Rafael Raphael.  His mother loved the name Rafael so much that it didn't matter that she married a man with the last name Raphael.

There's a chick on the news (local to Chicago maybe) named Robin Robinson.  It makes me wonder if she chose it or her parents did (i.e. is it her birth name or her married name).

I've been watching (and obsessed with) Sleepy Hollow and now I want to have a son I can name Ichabod, particularly because this thread seems to believe it's a terrible idea.
  • A coworker recently (and if they're lurking here, hi!) told me about a large family where every child was named after a kind of apple... Their last name is actually Apple. So the friend named Delicious just goes by Della.  There's a McIntosh too. Goes by Mac.

Sorry, but assuming I have a child, they're getting a name from the Bible. Or a Saint's name. Keeping it classic.

  • Wow, I guess double names are not so uncommon.  In middle school, I "dated" a kid named Robert Roberts.  And he was a Jr.

We all called him Robbie Squared.

DO IT. And then get him into bodybuilding, and nickname him "Icky the Bod."

    Please.

My old preacher named his son Gardener, and his daughters were Rose, Holly, Cherry, and.....Sarah.  Poor Sarah :(  (Or is she the lucky one?)

A football player on our high school's rival team was named Justin Case.  That sounds tame compared to some of the names in this thread!
