  • @severmilli12 Awww love your new signature! Can't believe it's almost been a month since your wedding. I'm glad you're loving your new job!

@LaPeanut1018 and @Dignity100 It's seriously blowing my mind that you guys are at the 2-week mark. Time is seriously flying. I'm so excited for you both!

I'm nervous for wedding dress shopping this weekend. I'm just self conscious about my body, and I don't know what to actually expect from the experience since all those TV shows are fake. Plus, my period started today and *should* be done by then, but watch Aunt Flo stick around longer than usual when I have to go try on white dresses lol. I went to Walmart yesterday to get groceries, and I picked up a nude strapless bra and some white undies because all my undies and strapless bras are black. I had to seriously dig to find anything in my size! It was crazy! Also, I apparently dropped a cup size? I don't know how accurate those brands are though. Still a cool feeling though to know that the exercising and dieting are kicking in.

On Thursday I'm getting 6 cavities filled at once. My boss seems to think I'm crazy for this and is asking if someone will be there to drive me home. I don't think I'll be that miserable/out of it though... haha it's going to be an adventure, I guess.

Work-wise things are still crazy with the CRM glitching every few days and me still working two jobs essentially. My boss did let slip that there's a chance I'll get an extra bonus soon as a thank you for doing so much, which would be soooo nice. I'm not getting my heart set on it, and I'm obviously happy to help regardless, but extra money would be GREATLY appreciated right now.

Other than that, there's not too much going on.

  • @twodimes congratulations on the house!! How exciting!

@eilis1228 good luck dress shopping! Have SO MUCH fun! As for the cavities, I've had 5 filled at once and it wasn't too bad. I went right back to work after my appointment. My mouth was sore but it wasn't unbearable and miserable.

  • Things are going well here. We are going to try to get approved around the end of the year for us to buy a house instead of rent one. Once that is done we will hopefully buy something before next May so looks like we will be buying homes around the same time. Once we get approved and are pretty much ready to move into the house...it may or may not be baby time. Oops.

@southernpeach89 Good luck on getting approved. We plan on trying to get approved around March and start looking for houses around then. Our lease isn't up until September :\  We plan to start TTC in March/April also so we have a lot of things going on in the next year hopefully! H has baby fever.

  • @severmilli12- Our lease ends in May so hopefully we will find something well before then. I'm so tired of renting and owning will be much more affordable for us and more of an investment.
  • Hey you OMH!

I just returned last night from an epic trip to NOLA & Gulfport, MS with a bunch of amazing NEY ladies. My body is still recovering from staying out until almost 3am (which felt like almost 4am to my east-coast brain), and dancing for al least 3 full hours of that time.

On the WR end, I'm picking up my dress a week from Thursday, and I just received all of my E-pics, so I'm working on designing my STD's!

Hi! Welcome back! It sounds like you have a lot of exciting stuff coming up!

@eilis1228 - Don't stress about dress shopping, I know you'll find a dress you look amazing in! Just don't put too much pressure on the shopping trip, it should be a fun experience.

There's not a lot new going on in my life. BF is considering going to medical school now but is taking the GRE for a PhD program at the end of October so I think he's still heavily leaning toward research. I'm a little stressed out about it because I like have a solid direction for the future and this sort of makes it all hazy.

I'm also getting pretty impatient waiting for BF to propose. I feel like he is dragging his feet and I'm a little annoyed. He finally picked a ring but hasn't ordered it yet because he's over complicating the whole process. He wanted to make sure he was at the house when it came and was trying to make sure that his schedule would line up so that would happen. I told him just to have them hold it at a FedEx center and he can go pick up. He over-thinks everything so everything takes 10x as long as it should.

ETA: Sorry that turned into more of a vent than a life update!

  • Hey lady!  Welcome to the OMHs Club.  Please don't tell the others that you must be sexed in.

You all saw that bit about my mom yesterday.  So that's new.

And DH burned his hand REALLY bad when making dinner last night (he grabbed a pan that just came out of the oven when he was distracted), and I've never seen a burn so bad in my life.  He immediately blistered up and the burn was white.  Urgent care was closed, and the ER had a 4 hour wait, so we nursed it as best we could at home.  He went to urgent care this morning, and they confirmed it was a 2nd degree burn.  He got the prescription ointment and antibiotics, so he should be ok now.

Other than that, we launched my new site at work (www.nmt2luxury.com), which I designed and wrote myself.  And I've been sick as a dog for months, and I don't know why.
  • Hey MRS! Glad you're liking the new job so far :)

@LaPeanut1018 and @Dignity100 - Wow you guys are getting so close!!! YAY!

@loves2shop4shoes - Yikes, I hope the ointment starts working quickly, that's terrible :(

I'm swamped at work today...I was going to start a thread earlier but got dragged into a black hole of translations and mistakes that made my head spin. I was an hour late for work because of delays on the subway and that was the last thing I needed today.

On the bright side, FI and I FINALLY got approval to use the chapel we wanted for our ceremony and went to see it last night. It's so beautiful and perfect and I couldn't stop grinning like a maniac. We got confirmation today that we're scheduled so we're just waiting for them to finish getting contact and deposit requirements pulled together and sent over.

We haven't been looking for houses lately for a bunch of reasons; our relator was away, we had a bunch of other stuff going on, and I think we were both cranky from the fall our with the last place. Hopefully we'll get back at that, but I feel like we have a bunch of WR stuff to do so who knows. I've started address our STDs and am hoping to get those out this week :)

@southernpeach89 I'm tired of renting, too. It will be SO NICE to pay monthly towards something that will be OURS and not to a management company. We did some math and found out that we could buya home 6x the sq. ft of our apartment for what we pay in rent right now!

  • @loves2shop4shoes‌ Ouch! I'm glad you were able to get stuff for his burn. That sounds horrible.

I am enjoying one week of being married by being lazy. We are driving back up to the lake where we got married today to laze around and have wine. We had lots of wine last night and it was delicious! Taking a lazy day today after a few hikes this weekend. We head back home Saturday and I'm so sad to leave. I love the little town (only 200 people!) That we are staying in currently.

  • @severmilli12 - YAYYYY!! I'm so glad you're back - I feel like you've been gone for AGES!! Your siggy pictures are so gorgeous. You make a beautiful OMH :)

Wedding stuff is moving along - I'm waiting to get our e-pics back so we can get save the dates done. My dress is living in my closet! EEEEE! We're kind of in a lull right now - although I do need to talk to the florist & secure a DJ...

We also bought a house! Our inspection is Thursday, and if all goes well, our closing will be Nov. 5. I'm so excited!! It's just the loveliest little house, with a big back yard for Violet (and there's already an invisible fence, so we only need to get a collar for her!), and everything is totally updated - including a brand new master bath. The only thing we're going to do is paint the kitchen, because I don't love the burnt orange that it is right now - so we'll do some sort of greige-ish color to go with the granite & tile backsplash & floor. I can't wait to AW pics!!

  • I pretty much such at this TK thing BUT I AM STILL ALIVE!

I update @lapeanut1018 about daily on whether our roof is leaking or our septic tank is exploding (it better not!!!)

My students are crazy, and I will have a full load of classes like..tomorrow or Thursday or Friday?  In theory.  They still haven't told me.  But I only have one more class that's being formed (I just wish I knew when!)

Tonight, I have my community band group and I love it.  It's really challenging (I'm not that good yet!) but it's a lot of fun.

I MISS YOU GUYS AND CAN'T WAIT TO STALK ALL YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS LIKE A STALKER!
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @SOUTHERNPEACH89 I NEED TO KNOW.  But really, you should tell @lapeanut1018 first.  I love you, but you CANNOT VAGUE KNOT LIKE THIS!

I talked to her and she is NOT pregnant. Which is ok...and not...because I want a little niece and/or nephew that I can spoil rotten. :(

Aghhhhh it means baby making time lolilololol sorry for the confusion!!!! Not pregnant! Yet. Eta: baby making not baby having. My brain isn't working
  • @southernpeach89 actually, I think it means baby MAKING time ;)  But we all know May 4th is an excellent day to pop out a kid so it can have my bday and @swazzle's wedding anniversary bday BUT you'd have to be pregnant by like 2 months already I think....soooo maybe next year :)

  • @southernpeach89 Aw, I'm both sad and happy. Sad because I think you would make cute babies and be a great mommy, but happy because baby making is in your near-ish future. :)

Blaaaaah working late is the pits. Also, ebola in Dallas. My Facebook feed is VERY entertaining right now. I know it's totally controllable, but I'm still a little nervous that it's so close to home. Some people are in full blown panic mode right now. I feel like I need some popcorn to sit back and watch it all unfold on Facebook.

People really love to over-react to this type of thing. It's really not a big deal! I can't look at my Facebook right now because I think amount of eye-rolling I would be forced to do is dangerous!

  • @bethsmiles Everyone I know is blaming the government, talking about how we're all going to die, etc. It makes me nervous since the hospital is maybe 20 minutes away from me, but I know it's not airborne and can only be spread by contact with bodily fluid once the symptoms start. I'm just waiting for all of the grocery stores to be raided and for people to bunker down. :-P

    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • @eilis1228 - Good lord. People are so frustrating. In an epidemic this huge eventually a case was going to make it's way over here. What the hell was the government supposed to do, put the country on lock-down? The poor guy is in the hospital not running around sweating on people, Ebola isn't contagious until symptoms appear, we have the infrastructure to handle this and prevent it from becoming an epidemic here. The conditions in Africa are vastly different than they are here. Not just the medical care we have access to but our traditions and just basic understanding of hygiene and how disease is spread. Ugh...I could go on a huge rant about this topic!

Also, completely random thought but I love your siggy! Modern Family is my favorite!

  • @bethsmiles A lot of people don't take the time to research any of that. They hear "epidemic" and "infectious disease" and panic. Yes, those are very scary things, but you have to learn HOW the disease spreads and WHY it's an epidemic. The people who blame the government are cracking me up because I know with 100% certainty if they found themselves in a country with an epidemic and the US stopped all travel from that country, they'd be the first people to complain that the government had abandoned US citizens and how dare they do this, yadda yadda yadda. I will say though, that the 4 days this guy was contagious and NOT hospitalized are a bit concerning. I doubt he was swapping bodily fluids with the public during that time though. His family's being quarantined, and I'm sure the CDC is tracking down anyone who may have come into contact with him during that time. I know the EMTs are being quarantined and the ambulance used to transport him hasn't been used since then either. It's definitely being handled correctly.

I love Modern Family too! I watched the premiere last night, and it reminded me just how much I love that show. I can't believe Eric Stonestreet is straight IRL. He is the perfect gay man. lol
