In-Suite Wedding Ceremonies

Just wondering, is there some kind of ban on in-suite ceremonies?  I've seen it mentioned on a few threads not to say anything to the hotel.  I've heard of people getting married in suite for years.  Is there something I'm missing?  My FSD is getting married in our suite the day after we get married and make sure that I'm doing all the right things.

Thanks.

Re: In-Suite Wedding Ceremonies

  • We are getting married in our suite and I don't think we will have any problems.  If you tell them you are having a wedding there, I don't think they'll necessarily have a problem with that - it's usually using outside vendors that they sometimes have an issue with.  We are still planning on using outside vendors though.  I think it really depends on which hotel you are in as to the amount of hassle you will get.
  • littlelasvegas.com has a lot of information on in-suite weddings.

Thanks, cause that's what I'm thinking.  It's one of the ways that I explained wanting the hospitality suite without booking catering.  It helped that both the vista and media suites were already booked.  We have the suite for three days - needing it before the ceremony and then hosting family visits the entire weekend.  We will not be using any outside vendors for her ceremony.  It's a simple ceremony for about 12 people.  We will not be having anything further in the room.  We will be going out later that day (after they do their picture tour) to a buffet.

  • Which buffet are you going to?  We are thinking about Wicked Spoon.

You've gotta at least get some champagne for the suite!

Ha ha!  They are 19 & 20, so they can't even drink yet!   We will have plenty of stuff, if it's left, after our party the night before.  I guess I should start calling it a party instead of a reception.  Although I like "cake & cocktails" myself.

I was thinking Wicked Spoon or Bacchanal.  Her FH's family is staying at TI, while we are at MB, so Bacchanal would be a good compromise.  I've been to WS but not B.  BFF says that the food at B is a bit better than WS, but WS is more reasonably priced.

  • I love Bachannal, but they said they aren't taking group reservations for the week we are getting married (Christmastime).  I was kind of bummed about that.

What does that mean?  They aren't going to seat you if you just show up?  How large is your party?

  • For both Bachannal and Wicked Spoon you can make a reservation for a large party (I believe that usually means 12-13 or more) and that allows you to bypass the line.  If you just show up, you have to wait in line, which can be a pretty long wait sometimes.

We are probably going to have up to 20 people in our party.  20 people waiting in line just doesn't seem like it's going to work.

Got it.  Lines are a pain. Both of those buffets are probably winners though.

  • We ran into the same problem with wicked spoon because it's thanksgiving weekend.
Anyway, @Ndelible‌ if you tell them you're having an in suite reception though they could try to get you to order their catering.
I rented a hospitality suite for the night before our wedding for a casual meet and greet. The front desk has been extremely helpful, it's really the sales and wedding people you have to avoid telling it too

No, not telling them about an in-suite reception.  I am planning on having all the girls over the night before while the guys are having the bachelor party downtown at the prerequisite cheap motel.  We are just going to hang out, but I wanted enough room for us to sit and talk and whatever.  For our wedding night, cake & cocktails - leaning to Say Goodnight Gracie catering and Drago Sisters for the cake, doing our own liquor.   The next day is the FSD's ceremony.  No party for that, but I am thinking of ordering a little something from hotel catering since there are only 12 of us for that.  We will be receiving visitors the entire time (when we're not out ourselves)!

  • I don't know how you're doing this @Ndelible‌ ! You're basically planning two weddings!

  • I'm glad you're nailed down though. I was gonna suggest you look into the stardust suite if you weren't

Luckily FSD has taken care of her officiant, photos and flowers!

I did look at that one too. We are essentially homebodies and knew we'd want a home base of sorts for that whole weekend.
