Sweetest thing your SO has done for you lately?

I thought we should bring some positivity over here to CC! So what is the nicest, sweetest thing your SO has done for you lately?

Monday is Fi's long day. He leaves for work at 5 am, then class, then doesn't get home until close to 7 pm. So Monday I got home from work and started cooking some lasagna (my first one ever and it turned out amazing!). When FI gets home he tells me how much he appreciates me coming home from work and starting to cook dinner for us.

He also brought me a snickers! He said, "You definitely deserve chocolate for this, and it's a Monday."

Things like that remind me that it really is the little and thoughtful things that mean the most sometimes.

Your turn!

Thank you for this thread @emmaaa!

I knocked out our seating chart last night and was putting the final touches on it when FI came home from the gym. He gave me a nice long shoulder massage while whispering his favorite things about me in my ear. It was so sweet. Just  couple more weeks until he is mine forever!

I've been really, incredibly stressed at work lately, and I had a day a couple weeks ago that was so bad I just wanted to lay on the floor of my cubicle and cry.

BF went out shopping and had waiting for me when I got home a pot of pretty orange mums, and these incredible pajamas, which I put on immediately while I enjoyed a glass of wine: http://www.target.com/p/women-s-tiger-footie-pj-orange-haze/-/A-15699629#prodSlot=medium_1_4

He also does my dishes while I'm at work almost every day, heh.

FI is a season ticket holder this year for our football team, which means he has his own budget now that goes towards that for tailgating, parking, etc. We have extra moneies for extra curricular activities like going to the movies/out to dinner, but lately we haven't had much for me to go shopping or work on crafts, etc.

Well, recently he started tutoring some kids before school and is getting a large check monthly from some parents and cash weekly from others. He's so sweet because he now has decided that all tutoring money can only go to me, and he wants me to use it for art classes or art supplies because he knows that I miss painting. We weren't even dating when I used to paint, which shows that it's extra sweet that he even thought of it. :)

     EDITED: i had paragraphs!
Edited again to clairfy this isn't one of those he controls our money statement. Now I'm scared it will come off that way lol. I go to the games too, so I should say "we" have a budget for that now lol

  • Yesterday, DH left before me and left a note on the kitchen counter telling me to have a good day with a flower from our front yard. I was all "awwwwwwww, geez!" Then I went out to my car and he had put another flower on my dash. And I was alll "AWWWWWWW..."

Sometimes I think he's too good for me.

  • btw, @esstee33, your siggy pic inspired me to change mine.  I love Charlie Day!
  • A couple weekends ago SO surprised me with a drive up to the mountains at night and built a campfire so we could sit around it and drink hot chocolate. It was very sweet and I had a great time. I'd been really stressed out lately and needed a vacation but we don't have the time or money right now so that was his way of giving me a small get-away.

  • @sarahbear31 that is my favorite scene of any movie ever!!! love it.

  • @sarahbear31 I noticed that in the other thread and got super excited! Charlie Day has been my celebrity crush for aaaaaages. BF had never seen the Flipadelphia episode of It's Always Sunny, so we watched it last night. :D
  • I love pumpkin spice things.  I've been looking for the Hersey Pumpkin Spice kisses for like two years.  He went out, found it and bought two packs.  Then last night he bought me the M&M version.

  • FI is always there for me when I have a melt down. I am seriously such an uptight and high-strung person and FI is so laid back that he helps balance me out.

And also, can I be mopey for a second? Tomorrow is mine and FI's 6 year anniversary. He had planned a nice dinner out (so I could relax and not cook) and then come home for a movie and some wine, and some sexaytimes....

Well I have a HUGE event for work that I'm in charge of Saturday. I won't be home Friday until about 7 pm and I have to be back at 6 am (I live 1 hour away) for the event and won't be home again until probably 6 or 7 pm. Then FI works all day Sunday and is staying with his friend that night (he works for a golf course and they have a tournament Monday and Tuesday so he has to be at work at 5 am instead of 6 am and we live 1 hour away from his work and his friend lives 5 minutes away).

We'll obviously spend time together, and have sexaytimes, tomorrow night but I just feel sad that we can't spend more time together on our last dating anniversary before we get married....

Sorry I brought the positivity down on this thread, but sexaytimes is always positive.

  • I had a horrible headache on Sunday afternoon, so he brought me dinner in bed so I wouldn't have to leave the room. (We have blackout curtains to help with my migraines.)

  • FI just texted me and said "Can I take you to the apple orchard after work?" He knows I've been dying to go but we've been really busy. I just adore him!

Sorry to hear this! Sexsaytimes always makes sad times happy! (Well at least for me and FI).

Just remember you are SO close to your wedding. You will have plenty of time for celebrating and sexsaytimes and lots of occasions coming up to do it!

A while back I was stressed out about all the stuff I had to do and no time to do it, and FI asked what I needed to do. I came home from work that day to find all the chores done (FI and I don't live together) - he had come over on his lunch break and done it all. Super sweet.

ETA: And he didn't even judge me for the state that my apartment was in before he cleaned it. Yep, he's a keeper.

  • He bought me a video game. I hadn't heard of it.

However, it is a mixture of Batman: Arkham Asylum (which was fun), Assassin's Creed (LOVE), and Lord of the Rings. So basically the best ever in the history of ever.

He is also in the process of "forgetting" that he ever even found his bday present on ThinkGeek because he just straight up guessed it OUT OF THE WILD BLUE ETHER last night and it made me so sad.

And he told me he'd make me Cuban sandwiches Sunday. I told him to email me all the stuff to pick up at the grocery store, and he did. The email was a freaking NOVEL so I let him off the hook for that because holy HELL Cuban sandwiches are complex.

  • This week? Woke up as I was tossing and turning at 5 AM - rubbed back that was causing said tossing and turning. Was unexpectedly off work Tuesday because he was already billing over time for the pay period. Not only did he clean the kitchen, living room, his spare room (which I let him run a muck in and just close the door - but it was getting BAD) and bathroom - he did an amazing job. I had been complaining about a cabinet we have in the kitchen that is the place where things go to die because it's so deep - he cleaned it out! AND he dusted the living room - he like NEVER dusts! It was so nice to come home to - candles lit and all!
  • I have been sick this week. He went to the store and got me my favorite kind of soup and juice.

When he got home yesterday, he let me continue watching Gilmore girls for 2 hours without complaining once.

  • There has been this awful cold going around town and FI has had it for the last 5 days. I thought I was doing so good and was out of the woods for getting it when I woke up at 1 am yesterday with sore throat of doom. I couldn't stay home from work as it was the first of the month and apparently people like to get paid (I do company's payroll) and I was severely miserable. Even though FI was super sick himself and was off work and could have easily stayed tucked up in bed, he showed up at my work mid-morning with Tea and Lozenges. I almost cried. And then last night after supper he told me to go get my coat on, and he took me to DQ for blizzards. I've been working out like crazy and really watching what I eat over the last few months and he told me that he was proud of how hard I was working and that I was sick and that I was taking the night off and eating some icecream. It was adorable.

  • I've been unable to work this week because I've been sick, and after FI had a long day at work, he went out to the store after dinner to get me some medicine. Sometimes it's the little things :)

  • Awwe.  DH is in the big city of Denver tonight.  He just called to ask my size.  Apparently I'm getting a sweater.    So sweet of him to think of me.    We are going back to Denver next week so he could have easily just waited.

    He's a keeper.
