Ch ch ch changes... what to do from 3:30 to 5:30?

Need some input on this one.  Our ceremony was originally scheduled for 4pm, I'm changing Venues and 3 pm is available but not 4.

My dilemma is what to do with 32 people from 3:30 to 5:30pm when we have dinner scheduled at Joe's.

We were going to do a strip tour after dinner but I'm thinking that we'll do it between the ceremony and the dinner.   It should be a good time to do the tour since it gets dark so early there in the winter, this time will allow us to get daylight and night time photos too.  Is it weird to do the tour before the dinner?

One concern I have is if everyone is drinking for 2 hours before dinner, that could get interesting.  Thoughts?  Other things we can do to take up the time until dinner at 5:30pm?

Thanks!

Thanks,
Kris

Re: Ch ch ch changes... what to do from 3:30 to 5:30?

  • Have some appetizers or something for them to eat while they are drinking? We are going to have about a 3 hour block of time and we are just going to go ahead and do cake and drinks before dinner...because, I mean, who doesn't want cake?
  • We did the se exact thing except for the venue change. We moved our ceremony to 2 pm and added the ddb in between. But we're only doing it for an hour and a half with light drinking so I'm not concerned about anyone over imbibing. You could also do something like the high roller.
Or you could even move your reception start time earlier too...

  • The time will go faster than you think.  Let's say ceremony ends at 3:20, it's going to take a good ten or fifteen minutes to get everyone out of the venue and loaded onto the bus, same amount of time to unload and get them into the restaurant.  So now you're already down to 90 minutes of time on the bus.  A strip tour for 90 minutes is not too long, and those who want to drink might knock back two or three beers, etc, so everyone's happy and then it's time for dinner.

  • Good point @vegasgroom, I'm sure it will take a while to get everyone herded towards transportation so I think a Strip tour will work out just fine.  I'll look for you on the DDB @rosebubbly!  I'll let you know what we'll be riding in once I get that all worked out too.   Less than 60 days to go!
