Do I go with Uncle Tom? Mr. Tom Jones? Uncle Tom and Guest? Mr. Tom Jones and Guest? Just because he's separated, I don't want to make it seem like he must come alone... who knows what the relationship status will be come wedding time. 3. For a distant aunt and uncle with a kid in college, can I just do one "Smith Family" envelope? Everyone 18 and over should get their own invitation.  I'd be surprised if the whole family flew across the country, let alone if the kid brought a date, to a not-close relative's wedding. I just don't know when it's appropriate to call someone "Uncle" or when they are "Mr. _____" on the envelope, how to handle the uncertainty of a guest/guest's name, or how to handle "distant" cousins.

OP, you're really so lazy that you freaked out at being told that you need to actually find out whether or not Uncle Whatever is dating someone and what her name is?  That's really sad.
