Do you eat breakfast?

Re: Do you eat breakfast?

  • I have cereal every morning. On days off it's like two bowls, and on work days it's cheerios in a bag picking at it over the course of 5 hours.

I absolutely have to eat breakfast. I usually wake up starving and so I have to eat right away. DH makes fun of me because I wake up freaking *hangry* most days of the week.

Lately I've been making over easy eggs with corn tortillas and salsa. Or I'll make a big batch of baked oatmeal on the weekend and then eat it all week. Or if I"m really lazy, Lean Cuisine breakfast sandwiches.
    Baked oatmeal? Please explain.
@inkdancer- it's amazing and so tasty! Sooo good for cold mornings. I use this recipe as a jumping off point, but I add in my own fruit/toppings. I've done a blueberry banana one, and an apple cinnamon/almond one.

  • I always have coffee with hazelnut creamer and oatmeal. Sometimes yogurt.

Sometimes pizza or Thai take out leftovers.

    Whatever.

  • I also can't function without breakfast.  Usually eggs in some form, since they're easy and fast, and then fruit or oatmeal depending on what I did with the eggs.  Oh, or sometimes, a yogurt berry parfait thing.  It's 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 cup berries, all mixed and topped with 1 cup Special K cereal.  I'll have that on the early mornings I coach, so I can eat at work

  • I eat breakfast every day. My lunch is not until 1:00, so I would never make it if I didn't. Sometimes I have to have a snack before lunch as well because I eat breakfast around 6, and 7 hours is too long for me!

  • I love breakfast.  It's non-fat greek yogurt with honey and cinnamon, fresh blueberries and then raw, slivered almonds with unsalted roasted sunflower seeds. It's so yummy, filled with protein, fiber and antioxidants.  It's my go to meal.

  • If I don't eat breakfast, I will be hangry within a half-hour. I NEED to eat first thing in the morning. I usually make scrambled eggs with cheese, ham, and spinach. If I'm in a hurry, I grab one of my pre-made egg muffins. (Seriously easy - you brown whatever meat you want and toss it into muffin tins along with scrambled eggs and cheese and anything else you might like. Bake. Put in Ziploc bags. Freeze. Reheat in microwave.)

If we're traveling, I eat a protein bar or some of those Sargento cheese sticks until we can get somewhere with food for purchase.
  • I have a medical condition and very specific protein needs (minimum of 60 - 80g a day spread across at least 3 meals), so yes, I do breakfast. Usually Greek yogurt, a mini frittata, a couple of hardboiled or scrambled egg whites, leftover protein from dinner the day before, cottage cheese, peanut butter, hummus...anything with protein is fair game, including protein shakes. I might add some fruit on the side, but usually, breakfast is hardcore protein.
  • I almost always eat breakfast. I start work at 5 am so sometimes it isn't until 8 or 9, but I need breakfast to get me through the day. Otherwise the gap between waking up and lunch is just too long.

For the past couple of months FI and I have been making breakfast baggies on Sunday. He scrambles two eggs and I make turkey bacon. We put them in plastic baggies then I can throw one in my lunch bag to take to work. It's great because I don't have to make any effort in the morning, but I can still get a decent breakfast.

  • I've never been a big breakfast person. I'm just not hungry when I first wake up.  I get my morning dose of caffeine on my hour drive to work.  But within the past couple of years, as I've started to try to eat healthier, I've started packing a greek yogurt along with my lunch.  I eat that at about 9 or 10 each morning (3ish hours after I've gotten up, but still a few hours from my lunch break).  I've found it helps to keep me focused in the morning.
