Welcome Gifts for traveling guests?

So, another one of those things not on TK's to do list, so I just thought of it yesterday less than a week before the wedding..... We don't have many guests coming in from out of town and all of them have family here they are staying with - no hotel guests. So my question is, what would be an appropriate welcome gift when their hosts will have plenty of food and drink for them, etc? And something I can get relatively easily at a local store (no spare time to have anything shipped)? My original thought was 'a few of our favorite things' - a mini bourbon from him, a mini red wine from me, and then..... I'm lost.

Re: Welcome Gifts for traveling guests?

  • Never mind! Candied bourbon pecans - we're in TX and pecans are a big thing here, and since two of our travelers are kids and one isn't a drinker, this should suit everybody. Simple, should only take a couple hours to make and package, ... whew.
  • We are doing welcome bags, and placing them in the rooms of guests who are staying at our hotels that we blocked. Inside the bags, we are putting a bottle of wine from a local vineyard, a booklet about the town they are staying in and things to do there, a block of cheese, a sleeve of crackers, a can of orange juice, and other small goodies.
