West End Ballroom?

My FI and I are looking at the West End Ballroom as a venue. Has anyone been there/had a wedding there who could give any insight into the service there? If you chose that place, how was/is it? If you didn't, why not?

II was only able to find three or four reviews online. My FI and I are going to call and set up an appointment to check it out next week, but I'd like some "real world" experience, if you know what I mean.

Is the West End Ballroom the same thing as the West End Theater?  If it is, my best friend got married at First Baptist Church across the street and had her reception there a little over a year ago (1/1/11) and it was really great. I remember Powers was the company in charge of the property and the caterer she used was Premier Catering. Both were very good; I heard the caterer put up a fuss about moving some things around at the last minute, but the food itself was delicious and the waiters were attentive. 

As for the venue itself, it's very pretty. She arranged four long tables (think Hogwarts dining hall) with a space in front for dancing and had the head table up on the stage. She held the cocktail hour on the steps leading upstairs and the entry way before you go into the ballroom (a bit cramped for 150 guests). The only real complaint I heard voiced was that it was extremely cold that day and since the heater wasn't turned on early enough, guests stayed pretty cold throughout the evening (until we started dancing).  I hope this helps, good luck on your venue search.
