I finally started watching OITNB.

H and I started watching it while we were in Italy - he did some kind of trick with the IP address to make Netflix work. Holy cow, you guys. I'm addicted. We're about halfway through season two.

H is in Florida right now (FIL was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's. So sad) and he made me promise not to watch it without him. Which is hilarious because Piper made Larry promise not to watch Mad Men until she got out. And every day it's a struggle.

  • About. Damn. Time.

    Welcome to the club.

  • We binge watched on Saturday after we got home. I think we watched for 7 hours straight.
  • OITNB is so addicting! You just can't stop once you start!

  • Yay for getting on the bandwagon! I got H hooked on it. He still hasn't seen the first few episodes of season 1 so maybe we'll go back to those this week. I think we had season 2 finished in a weekend.
  • I LOVE that show. I watched both seasons in about three days. I was completely hooked.

Season Three comes out next summer. I can't wait.
  • Oh - they tend to film a lot in my area too! They were filming in the town I work in just a few weeks ago. So cool! I recognized some of the areas from watching.
  • Oh we binged OINTB so hard. DH binged it in 2 days when it first came to netflix, and then watched it with me a year later when I finally started getting into it. I think season 2 is so much better than season 1-- love all the stuff going on with Fig!!

And I totally know the struggle of having to wait til H is back to finish binging. Every Saturday when DH is at work and I'm at home, my DVR taunts me with all the shows I'm not allowed to watch without him. I did get permission to watch Homeland without him (he already watched season 3 and I'm catching up)- so no rules for that show!!

  • IT IS SO GOOD.

No other show is telling women's stories this way. Certainly they aren't telling the stories of women of color/LGBT women/women of "low" socioeconomic status the way this show does. It is ostensibly Piper's story, but she is the least interesting by far to me. I love it so much.

  • I keep hearing GREAT things about it....now that I'm unemployed, perhaps a marathon is in order one of these days....

  • We just started it last month too - we're on season 2.  It's hilarious and awesome!  Too many characters that I really like to mention..but I really love Suzanne/Crazy Eyes.

  • What show is this?

  • mrsmagicgeek - Orange is the New Black. FI and I watched the first episode but we didn't get into it. I think after we are done with the Sopranos (we are HOOKED on that. I know, I know, a few years too late), I want to try it out again.

  • I know I'm on a lonely island with this UO...but I didn't like it. Scratch that, I didn't necessarily NOT like it, but I certainly didn't love it. Have tried twice now to watch it and only make it about half way through season 1 before getting bored. Something is wrong with me.

  • I got FI hooker right b4 season 2. The first time around he rolled his eyes and assumed it was greys anatomy in jail. Right before season 2 started I decided to rewatch season 1 and he got into it, now he asks me every few weeks when season 3 starts!

Only down side was binge watching is hard in our house. Way too much nudity going on to have it on before the kiddo is in bed.

That's how I feel about it! My friend tells me I need to give it another chance because it's a show I would totally love. So I'm willing to try it again. But I feel like I'm the only person who does not like that show!

  • I binged on both seasons. I got H to watch it with me when I was sick awhile back and we decided to stay in on a Saturday night and watch almost all of Season 1.

I thought I had read somewhere that there wasn't going to be a Season 3 but with the way they left it off there's no way this can be possible!

Episode 1 is mediocre and focuses entirely on entitled little Piper. The next episodes are SO much better.

The first few episodes of it were boring, IMO.  I am totally into it now, though.

I liked season 2 a lot more as well. It's darker, but in a good way. And as much of a prick as Pornstache is, I still love him.

I stopped watching Homeland after last season. What I've read about the current season confirms my decision.

  • I don't have Netflix so can't watch this though I've heard a lot of good things obviously. FI and I binging on GOT for now. Will probably get Netflix as soon as we get a TV.
