Addressing save-the-dates

On the invitation envelopes, I plan to use the proper addressing:

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith

123 Main Street

Town, ST, zip

But what is the proper addressing style for save-the-dates? We are sending postcards.

Should it be like the invitations, or can it be a little less formal (for example):

Joe and Lisa Smith

123 Main Street

Town, ST, zip

Informal is fine for save the dates since they're not really ever necessary.

Technically, all mail should be addressed formally.  In the USA, ru;es are more relaxed.

It's fine. No hardcore rules for addressing the save the dates as they are optional. But yeah for the proper invitations, proper addressing is far necessary.

Mine were informal.  I checked with my mom and FMIL to make sure that would be okay with family they're inviting, and they agreed it was okay.  After all, my STD does sya "FORMAL invitation to follow" - so it can be a little more informally addressed lol
