Good news is after 2 IVs DH is much better.

Bad news I started getting sick yesterday.  Different symptoms than DH, but I was up all night sniffling, sneezing and coughing.   Of course I only had day quil.

Life is not fair - I spent week catering to DH's every need.  Took him to the doctors, ran to the store many times for meds, pedialyte, gatorade, whatever.  I cooked, cleaned and took care of the dogs 100%.   I'm sick and what does DH do?  He went into work.  With the car, so I can't even go get meds if I wanted.     Now I understand he has been of of work for over week between going to TX and being sick.  But really?  Really?   His boss said not to come in until next week.    GRRRR

Enough of my complaining, how is your day?

  • :( I'm sorry you aren't feeling well!!! I hope it's something that passes quickly.

I'm watching Harry Potter on DVD. I desperately want to start walking around the block, but I know it's not safe as I am by myself. I'm just not quite there yet.

  • I'm watching the Love Boat and Below Deck.  I keep going back and forth between the 2.  I think I'm missing yachting.

  • It sounds like it! To me, it's a fascinating lifestyle. I cannot imagine all of the awesome things you have seen!

  • Do you prefer usvi or colorado? I'd rather be in the Caribbean
  • I like them both in different ways.

I'm miss the boat a lot.  It was my dream job.  I haven't found a job I've liked since.    But DH now has his dream job, so it's a trade off.  It's great here, people are nice, weather amazing, healthier lifestyle.

  • Ugh I'm sorry. :( hope you feel better soon!

We're in Wisconsin visiting DH's B and SIL. Had a fun morning playing with the nieces, who are now down for naps. Hoping for a big Notre Dame win tonight! (BIL is an alumn).

  • I'm marking midterms. I kind of want to bang my head against the wall because this is an advanced class and some of the students still can't define simple terms that they should have learned 2 years ago in the intro class and used frequently in the prerequisite classes. Kitty thinks I should be giving her all the attention instead of marking so she is being bad on purpose now. DH is at work so he can't play with her.

  • I'm not sure what they were fighting over, but I don't think it was the cheese!  I rounded the corner as it got loud and caught the scuffle.

My day is going fine.  My temporary superintendents came up this morning and replaced my kitchen tap (the thing was leaking, apparently it was cracked) and fixed my bathroom fan.  I found some old Halloween specials from The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh on Youtube and think I might watch them tonight :) I also have to figure out something to make for dinner.  I have chicken breasts out and pretty much defrosted.  Hmm...

  • Shitty! Hopefully he will stop and get you some goods on his way home. I hope you get lots of sleep and don't get as bad as he was.

My day is shitty. My car failed inspection this morning for something stupid and easy to fix, but it has a red R which means do not drive or you will be impounded. A black R is ok, but not a red one. So I mentioned it on FB and how I was bummed to be missing the AppleFest. And I got a barrage of people telling me "fuck the system, just drive it". Um, I have to get to work Monday (after we make the necessary fixes tomorrow) and I can't risk having my car impounded. They are like "just do it, don't let the state run your life!". Gee, I'm sorry for being a fucking law abiding citizen. I will not be taking the advice of people with terrible driving records. (AKA my brother from the thread who wanted me to insure his car due to his record....yea....).

    I hate people like that.

  • That's so frustrating! I hope you feel better soon!

I should be grading papers but because I hate grading papers I'm putting it off and knotting instead.

Sorry your sick, Lynda. Hope you don't get the pukes.

Today, we went to Petsmart to stock up on Blue Buffalo for our spoiled dogs. They have a pet adoption event every Sat. I fell in love with a mini-pinscher mix, 10 months old. We're not ready for another dog, right now, but I know where I'm getting my next furbaby.

Then we spent more money on people food. Our grocery store is boring, no fights.

If misery loves company, I should be good company. Readers digest condensed version:
6 hours in ER, kidney stones, what the hell did they do to my arm IVing me (remember the black knight in Monty Python spraying blood? I looked like that.) then later they knocked the IV port out of my hand and spilled morphine, decided I probably hadn't gotten enough, dosed me again, uhm, yeah. Waaaay too much, sent home waiting to piss rocks, seriously morphine sick and puking for 10 hours, and bitchy is a huge understatement.
Also, my basement is flooded, I'm not well enough to deal with it, and my sister is a bitch.
On the bright side, my stomach is getting better, Moosey is baking shortbread cookies, I was able to drink a little coffee, and am going to watch cheesy ghost hunting shows in bed.

    Not my best weekend.
  • Ugh I'm so sorry you're sick! I hope you feel better soon, being sick is the worst. We were supposed to go to Fright Fest at 6 flags but FI's cousins flaked. Which is totally fine because I had no desire to go. I guess I'm over theme parks and roller coasters and stuff. We went to get lunch instead, and now we"re home watching The Sopranos :)

Too bad you're feeling shitty Lynda.  It is the worst when you want to just be waited on and there's no one around to do it.

Ohannabelle - What a mess!!  I hope you're feeling better too.  Cookies always help though

I was coaching this morning.  I took over he girls volleyball team since we had no coach and none else would (I teach PE, so feel I kinda should, even though I'm also coaching 2 school cheer teams).  Anyway, they sucked last year.  Like, they won 1 game (best of 3) all year.  Every other game they went 0-3.  Well, they just took second in the tournament today, and won their league match last night.  I'm kinda surprised.  And it sucks cos we were both evenly matched teams.  We just blew too many serves and they didn't.  Any other day they could have beat this team.  (They lost 1-3).  Our school has never won a volleyball tournament, so it would have been a great first.

  • Much better already, thank you, comparatively. As long as I can eat, life is not too bad. Now I'm just sullen. I am not a good patient. And kidney stones aren't long term or dangerous. Just a bitch.
  • Feel better, Lynda & Annabelle!

We were originally supposed to be hitting the hills for dinner in at my step sister's house in Evergreen tonight, but that fell through. So, instead, we agreed to dog sit DH's ex's & her hubby's pooch and I'm already thinking it's going to be a looooooonnnnnggggg weekend. He's the prettiest, sweetest, biggest oaf of a GSD, but man is he needy and man-o-man are 3 dogs in the house way to many! It's times like these I could use a stiff drink!

  • Wow! Feel better Lynda and Annabelle!! It sounds like you both have had a tough day.

FI and I got into a minor disagreement earlier but that ended with some minor time making up in the sack, so all's well around here :)

Now just watching these college football games and none of them are going the way we want them to. Boooo.

  • Hope you're feeling better Lynda :( Too bad your H didn't stay with you, agreed he could have stayed to take care of you...

@ohannabelle I hope you feel better too! You know, everytime I see that poster for the Annabelle movie, I think of you now...it's really creepy, it's everywhere in the tube...

  • @ohannabelle and @lyndausvi- hope today is a better day!!!

  • It must be the weekend for illness. I came home from work Friday thinking it was just a migraine and ended up with chills, fever, exhaustion, bodily emissions I don't need to expand upon. Stayed in bed all weekend still hoping to make it to work Monday. Have a very unhappy 12 year old since mom is not allowed to get sick. Alright enough complaining from me. I will take this over kidney stones though ohannabelle. Nasty and painful things they are. Feel better everyone!
